Are you here at the launch of the “Where the Pieces Come Together” anthology?

Where the Pieces Come Together is an anthology written by writers from This is My Story, a DC Public Library writers workshop, published through Zozobra Publishing, and partially financed by the Friends group.

The Friends group is honored to be just a small part of bringing these stories to life and we encourage everyone to purchase their own copies.

Thank a Librarian today for all they do for our community!

April 25 is National Library Workers Day!

Thank you to all the local library workers for all their hard work and dedication in serving their communities!

Celebrate National Library Week from Apr. 23-29 with DC Public Library!

This year's theme is There's More to the Story. In 2023, libraries are no longer a place just to quietly read. In many ways, libraries are a place to get loud! They are a place to explore your passions with books and online resources.

Most importantly, libraries are a place for you to be just as you are as you find your story.

Despite hoping that tomorrow's weather forecast was a April Fool's joke by Mother Nature, we're not taking any chances and are moving the Spring Carnival & Used Book Sale completely indoors.

Everything will be in the large meeting room on the lower level. We'll still have plenty of kids books, adult books, face painting, and more.

Please join us!

Details for Saturday's Spring Carnival & Used Book Sale!

Photos from Friends at Petworth Library's post 03/29/2023

Ever wonder what happens after you donate your books to the library?

Donated books are held in the upstairs donation room until the Friends at Petworth Library schedules a sort-day when volunteers work together to transport them down to the basement and then sort them into crates and onto shelves in the Friends room.

Then, when there's a book sale, like Saturday's Spring Carnival & Used Book Sale, the books are wheeled out to the meeting room where they're purchased by fellow booklovers.

Looking for your next read? Visit us on Saturday, April 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for kids books, paperbacks, hardbacks, kid's activities, a merchandise sale, and more. Details here: https://www.dclibraryfriends.org/event-5209174

It’s hard to put into words but our thoughts are with the Petworth Library staff who experienced this absolute tragedy.
