In our latest , Ginny Badanes, Senior Director of the Democracy Forward Initiative, spoke with Fred Humphries about ways to ensure global elections are protected from cybersecurity threats. Heading into 2024, we will provide a wealth of resources to ensure voters, campaigns, and election authorities receive accurate information during democratic processes and election providers remain safe from cyberattacks.

Ginny emphasized Microsoft’s recent partnership with the National Association of State Election Directors to provide voters with accurate election information through our Bing and Bing Chat. Additionally, our Election Communication Hub will provide election authorities with the tools and resources needed to allow safe and accurate processes for voters globally. These resources paired with government efforts such as the bipartisan Protect Elections from Deceptive AI Act will help limit the deceptive influence of some emerging technologies and the risks of other cyber threats. Tech companies, civil society, and governments must work together to address AI election risk.
