Hey Coffy Cafe Customers,

It’s been 7 lovely years at the care and I’d like to announce that as of May 27, 2022, we will be shutting our doors and opening a new venture right here in the same location!

We are proud to have been one of your favorite coffee shops and neighborhood cafes. But, we are bringing new flavors to Columbia Heights/Mt. Pleasant and cannot wait for you to try it. We will be undergoing renovations over the next few months, so keep up with our progress and our new look on social media.

Foxy Brown, Mr. Bootsy Collins. It's the nostaligia for us. Inside the cafe, you're surrounded by entertainers that brought us soul, and funk, and classic films. Everyone catches these feels as soon as they walk in. Mr. Bootsy Collins, drawn in chalk by one of our customers, illustrates some of that feeling (see what we did there?).

So many of you have come in here to work over the years. Whether you were studying, planning or in a meeting, it's been a pleasure to be the place you wanted to come to.

We are so grateful for the love and response to Monday’s announcement, but to clarify: we are not closed yet.

The cafe will be open until summer and our new venture, which will be in the same place, same location, will be announced by late spring.

You can still drop in for your favorite crepe and coffee until then!

The people that make up DC welcomed me in seven years ago and Columbia Heights has become more than I would have imagined. Coffy Cafe is more than just coffee and crepes, it’s a community. We’ve overcome so much together and the cafe will always be a part of me. Today, I announce that we will officially be closing our doors in the coming weeks. It’s a decision I’ve been considering for a while and the time has come. I look forward to the new memories that await to be made ahead!

🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡 that’s all I am going to say

This morning at around 2:50am Coffy Café was broken in by a thief and this is what I was left with, lots of glass on the floor, a broken door and no register. 🤬🤬🤬 I’ve had this business in Columbia Heights for almost 6 years and this is the first time someone breaks in, I think we should all, as a community, rise up and make our voices heard, we should make sure our community leaders know about the growing insecurities in our neighborhood ! I am really mad 😡
