Our Vision Is a Future Free From Vaccine-preventable Diseases At Sabin, we believe in the power of vaccines to change the world.

Unlocking the potential of vaccines through partnership, Sabin has built a robust ecosystem of funders, innovators, implementers, practitioners, policy makers and public stakeholders to advance its vision of
To ensure no one is left behind, health workers often go the extra mile to administer vaccines to those in hard-to-reach communities. For Alawiyatu Usman Ibrahim, that mile to reach remote settlements in Nigeria can change from a road to a river in the blink of an eye.
As a Sabin/World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Recovery for Routine Immunization Programs fellow, Alawiyatu didn't let washed-out roads stand in the way of increasing immunization rates in her community.
Thanks to her team's dedication, 300 children are now back on track with their vaccinations.

As many had feared, the version of bird flu circulating in the U.S. has now sickened people. On Sunday, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment reported that five farm workers have tested positive for bird flu.
The news is a grim landmark — it denotes the first time a cluster of human infection has been reported on a single farm in the U.S., and it again raises the stakes on the seriousness of this virus.
Over the last few months, experts have been urging health agencies to take a more aggressive approach to reduce human exposure to the virus and prevent a potential pandemic. Fortune commentary says the urgency of those requests is about to rise as we are now at a "turning point."
Bird flu outbreak at Colorado farm as 5 workers reported positive: Experts warn of ‘turning point,’ call for urgent action Colorado’s governor has declared a disaster emergency in response to the first cluster of human H5N1 infection on a single U.S. farm.
Today, we launched a second Phase 2 vaccine clinical trial for a deadly disease. Volunteers received a single-dose investigational vaccine for virus disease at Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) in Kampala, Uganda. A total of 125 participants will be recruited for the trial, including a second site at Kenya Medical Research Institute in Siaya, Kenya.
A similar-stage trial is underway for our virus vaccine with enrollment complete at both MUWRP and KEMRI. There are currently no approved vaccines for the , which saw an end in Uganda just last year. The disease kills on average half the people infected, according to the World Health Organization.
“We are delighted to advance a vaccine candidate that can thwart a deadly and devastating disease, especially one that caused a fairly recent outbreak and for which no approved treatments exist,” says Amy Finan, Sabin’s Chief Executive Officer.
