These events serve as a great opportunity to convene with your fellow GMS Alumni, learn about the Scholars Equity Network programs, and contribute to the work of SEN. We look forward to sharing news about how we will celebrate the 25 Year Anniversary of the Gates Millennium Scholars Program in June of 2025. That update will be coming soon! We have officially launched Scholars Equity Network to the world, and now we want to gather with you - our SEN community - to celebrate this exciting milestone!⁣

This will be the first in a series of SEN gatherings held throughout the country - including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, NYC, Houston, Albuquerque, Chicago, and D.C.⁣

At this first event, you will get a chance to hear about PATH, an AI powered skills trainer and career mentor platform that was co-founded by one of our very own GMS Alumni - 2010 Cohort. We will also have a Bay Area wealth and money management expert share ways for you to map out your plan to financial freedom!⁣

You’ll walk away from this event well aligned with the three pillars of SEN’s mission: Economic Empowerment, Personal & Professional Development & Civic Engagement, and be enriched by your time spent with the ambitious and diverse talent of the Scholars Equity Network!⁣

We are finally back outside! The first GMS in-person reception since March 2020. We look forward to coming to a city near you over the next several months.

is teaming up with the broader community to bring Scholars and Alumni: Speaking Up and Speaking Out: Why the Asian American Community and Allies Must Be Politically Engaged. Join us as speaker Jenn Feng discusses how throughout Asian American movement history and in the face of racial violence, we have repeatedly come together to demand justice. This lecture will draw from Asian American history to contextualize contemporary racial politics and to argue why we must continue to engage the ongoing fight for racial and social justice.

Dr. Sharon GE Washington of Sharon Washington Consulting LLC, Renowned for engaging diverse audiences on the complex intersections of race, historical trauma, social inequality and justice, and the impact of these factors on health outcomes. Sharon is a Gates Millennium Scholar, class of 2003, and Past President of the GMS Alumni Association Gates Millennium Scholars Alumni Association

Cecilia Corral, Co-Founder and VP of Product at CareMessage. Driven by her experiences growing up in a low-income immigrant household, Cecilia takes a patient-centered approach to product development with a relentless focus on user research.
