Good Deeds Baby Jesus. This doll is roughly 4.5 inches tall and filled with Polyfil cotton stuffing. It is made with a wool blend felt and hand-sewn with embroidery floss.

*Manger not included* It does come with cut yarn “hay”, and is a wonderful tradition to carry on with your children during Advent. Each day the children do a good deed (to be decided by the caregivers), they place a piece of hay in the manger so that on Christmas, Baby Jesus will have a warm and cozy bed.

Happy Feast of St Juan Diego! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I’m finishing up orders and then I’ll be spending the week working on Christmas gifts for our 19 teachers, speech therapist, school counselor, the nurse and our amazing bus driver.

Two St Lucy Wreath kits out today. Considering making a few more for locals to grab at before St Lucy’s feast day next week. I finally updated the instructions and added a couple of reference photos too… something that has been long overdue. I’m dealing with one spiritual attack after another but I’m still pushing through as best as I can. Shoutout to my mom for listening to my rants and yells of frustration when things break or go missing or I suffer with prolonged and agonizing health flare ups.

Working on the last few orders before Christmas. I currently have 5 open orders and aim to have them all shipped by the end of next week. I put my shop on vacation mode this morning, but if I get these orders out sooner than expected, I’ll post here if I can squeeze in another order or two. I’ve been in a bad health flare up this week and am in absolute agony from my neck to my hips, but I’m doing everything I can to fulfill these orders as quickly as possible. I’ve been crocheting beanies for my kids and I had the thought to sell some as themed Saint beanies. This one would be called the “St Therese beanie” because the brown and cream match her habit and the pink because she’s associated with roses. It will also have a leather “handmade with love” tag and either a brown or pink pom on top. Would anyone be interested? I have ideas for a few others as well but between Christmas orders and a bad back/shoulders/wrists this week, crocheting is slow-going ☺️ Happy feast of St Nicholas, by the way!

This is a French custom of preparing the manger for Baby Jesus by performing good deeds and sacrifices throughout Advent and adding “straw” to the manger. The more straw in the manger, the warmer Baby Jesus will be on Christmas.

Examples for all ages:

Being kind to each other
Chores without being asked
Daily prayers
Exceptional behavior
Completing schoolwork on time
Paying attention at Mass
Donating toys/clothing/etc
Trying new foods
Replacing screen time with a positive habit
