Nablaa is a handcrafted bead and textile accessories label by Dolly Barnes, an immigrant from Liberia, located in Washington, DC. I set out to create items that express the aesthetics and interconnection of peoples of African descent and those outside of that continent. I strive to bring authenticity, value and beauty to my creations. I work as a home-based, sole proprietorship, and I make all of my products by hand, one piece at a time, and love doing it.
Nablaa has been featured in Essence by Mail catalogs, Nordstrom’s, Smithsonian Museum of African Art shop, other museum shops and boutiques in Monrovia, Liberia, Los Angeles, CA, Columbus, OH, and Washington, DC, and have regularly sold at BZB Shop ‘Til You Drop annual holiday bazaars held in DC, among other local retail venues.
