The workbook guides cardiovascular health care professionals on definition, types, clinical uses, benefits and limitations of RPM. It also helps practices determine whether they are ready for RPM utilization and provides considerations about how to set up an RPM program.

The document defines the program requirements for training advanced cardiovascular imagers and uses the ACGME competency domain structure to identify the competencies required by all advanced cardiovascular imagers, as well as those who choose to specialize in a particular area. It also identifies recommendations for minimum procedural volume or technical experience to achieve and demonstrate competence as an advanced cardiovascular imager.
