❤ Keep plenty of distance when traveling behind trucks.
❤ Avoid lingering in a truck's blind spots.
❤ Always pass on the left side of a truck.

Safety Tip Tuesday! Always stay 20 car lengths behind a truck to keep a safe following distance. A good rule of thumb to remember is if you can see the truck’s side mirrors, you are in the clear. 👍

Safety Tip Tuesday! ⚠ This month is National Drunk and Drug – Impaired Driving Prevention Month. We remind all drivers that many substances can impair driving, and when you make a reckless decision, it will lead to a reckless accident. Today and each day we follow NHTSA’s campaign message, “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different.” Always make the right call to drive unimpaired for the safety of yourself, other drivers, and pedestrians around you.

The Share the Road truck, in partnership with Virginia Trucking Association and Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), paid a visit to Cedar Lane High School in Vienna, VA. Share the Road professional truck drivers, Sammy Brewster, ABF Freight, and James Ellis, Grammer Logistics, guided 50 high school students through a series of safety demonstrations. The students had the opportunity to climb into the truck to get a look at a truck driver’s blind spot vantage point and how they can do their part to make the roads safer for themselves and truck drivers.
