Friends of Spark the Wave,
WE MADE IT EVEN BETTER IN 2023! We need your HELP this holiday season to be able to serve every young service star we can in 2024.
I am very pleased to say that through the combined efforts of more than 50 volunteers and an
enormous number of community supporters, Spark the Wave was not only able to weather the Covid storm, but re-build a new and expand on our mission in 2023. Our new Summer of Service is more robust than ever. Wave Week remains our linchpin while still offering our virtual programs: Change Maker
Challenge (an asynchronous service, project-based program) and Ignite Academy (a virtual, week-long program in which every participant designs and completes a service project by week’s end). SUMMER OF SERVICE ’23 with a new and improved Wave Week at Villanova University was not only 3D after 3 years on hiatus BUT growing and even more connected with all of our community partners
ARE YOU READY FOR STW’S SUMMER OF SERVICE 2024?
As one of those supporters, thank you for your continued commitment and your belief that young people can change the world through service. This year, we focused on engaging teenagers from across the United States at our Summer of Service programs. We trained scores of learners aged 11– 22 who each over the course of one week, with STW trainers, planned and executed service projects that ranged from virtual 5k’s to homeless advocacy campaigns. These individuals show us that the future of Spark the Wave is in the hands of incredibly capable, passionate, and community-centric young people.
We ask you to continue your support and invest in these individuals by making acontribution to Spark the Wave and our next group of future community leaders.
Young people are more engaged now than ever. They see their peers develop movements that
have captivated the world. Not only do today’s young change-makers recognize the various issues
facing their communities, they are prepared to change them. During this crucial time, STW provides
future leaders with the confidence and tools to know that they can—and will—make a difference.
With your gift, we can introduce the next Change Agent to a lifelong commitment to community
service. Checks can be made payable to “Spark the Wave” and mailed to Spark the Wave, PO Box
40038, Washington, DC, 20016 or go to https://secure.givelively.org/donate/spark-the-wave to make a secure, online gift.
I am always eager to hear from you and can be reached at [email protected] with any thoughts
or ideas you might have to help Spark the Wave in the new year. I stand alongside an incredible team
of motivated volunteers who worked incredibly hard through COVID times so that Spark the Wave can
now make the world a better place by investing in our future leaders. I hope you’ll consider joining us
on this quest in 2024.
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy Holidays & 2024,
William Gallagher, President and Founder
