Donate to Support Flood Victims in Bangladesh Now, organized by BUETianUSA Capital Region 08/25/2024

Dear BUETians,

We are writing to inform you about a dire situation unfolding in Bangladesh. Catastrophic floods have displaced thousands, destroyed homes, and left many without access to essentials like food, water, and shelter. The urgency to help is immense.

BUETianUSA Capital Region has set up a GoFundMe to raise funds for immediate and ongoing support for the flood victims. Donations will be used to provide emergency supplies, rebuild homes, and assist families in recovering from this tragedy.

The collected funds will be distributed through reliable organizations such as the Bangladesh Army, Navy, Air Force, and Songjog. We also have local volunteers on the ground to ensure the aid reaches the affected communities directly.

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. If a financial contribution isn't feasible for you right now, please consider sharing this campaign within your network to amplify our reach.

Thank you for considering this cause and for any support you can provide.

Help My Autistic Sister Battle with Blood Cancer, organized by Anas Mazady 01/08/2024

Dear BUETians,
We are reaching out to humbly request your support for Mima Layla Mazady, the elder sister of Anas Mazady (BUET EEE 2000, an active member of BUETianUSA), who is currently battling with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML-M3), a curable type of blood cancer. However, at 42-years old, Mima has been autistic since birth, has the intellectual maturity of probably a 4-year-old. Therefore, her uncooperative nature severely limits treatment options, further complicating the situation.

Mima’s fight against Leukemia has been a challenging journey, and the financial strain of treatment has been overwhelming for her family (See GoFundMe link for more information). As they are going through this difficult time, your generosity can make an immense difference in easing their burden and aiding in Mima Layla's treatment.

Any contribution, regardless of its size, will directly contribute to covering her medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and essential care. Your compassion and support will bring hope and strength to Mima and her family during this crucial time.

N.B. As the patient has no source of income and no family of her own, she also meets the criteria to receive Zakat donations, in addition to any charitable gifts or donations.

To contribute:

Should you have any questions or want to know the status of Mima Layla Mazady, please feel free to contact Anas Mazady at [email protected] and his phone 803-445-7427.

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we regretfully inform you of the passing of Mousumi Sultana Rinku (BUET MME, HSC Batch 97) (Innalillahi Wa Inaillah-e-Rajioon). She was the beloved wife of another fellow BUETian, Kamruzzaman Tiash (BUET ME, HSC Batch 91). She departed from us yesterday afternoon (October 3rd, around 6:00 PM) after a brief yet courageous battle against lung cancer, leaving behind her two children (Nabbyo and Nijhoom). May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul eternal peace in Heaven!
