Swala’s Antiques

To all of my friends and customers I share this great Ohio box which dates to the Civil War.We believe that it was used for horse and livestock lineaments and medicines.The underside is identified with the owners name where it reads:D.W.Fouraker.77 th regmt.Dec 5 1861.This box has been in our collection for 15 years when I purchased it privately.We will have it for sale in our booth at the Zoar Show next weekend.Hope to see you there!Incidentally,D.W.Fouraker died in Memphis at age 22,the following year.A great pie e of Ohio history and folk art.

I'm so pleased to have been able to include this 8" "coffee jar" in my shop inventory.In as made condition including a glazed over chip.Best thing I've landed in quite some time.Large tulip on both sides!
