❓MYTH OR FACT ❓

🤔Replacing the sugar in recipes with honey is a healthy choice.

🔥IT DEPENDS!🔥

💡The Fact: honey contains antioxidants, trace amounts of minerals, and has antibacterial qualities (especially higher-quality varieties!).

It definitely has more health benefits than refined sugar.

💡The Myth: despite those benefits, honey is still sugar – and that’s something most of us get way too much of! It is also calorie dense (it has a lot of calories for the amount of nutrients).

Eating too much added sugar is linked with many chronic illnesses and diseases.

✅ The takeaway: enjoy honey – but do it in moderation!

✨Do you want to know how I stay on top of my workouts and yoga during the holidays!

It’s by getting my workout in early in the morning before I start getting ready for work.

💡I make it a priority because it keep me feeling great mentally and physically, helps me have energy so I can be there for my clients and my family, and most important it’s my best mood booster!

… and I do NOT want to have to play catch-up in January!

True change comes from changing our behaviors and creating new habits to replace old ones that no longer serve us. This isn't easy, especially when they have deep roots in our daily lives. Making goals and following through takes courage, bravery, and consistency. The change you want lies outside your comfort zone.

What are you doing today for YOU?

Most people, when they hear "what do you do for yourself", they think of massages, mani/pedis, and shopping. So they put off doing something for themselves and continue doing for others, for one reason or another. I'm just as guilty of this too.

Truth is it doesn't have to cost a thing to do something for ourselves. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, catching up on a show, taking a walk, or just taking some time to decompress after work.

My busy work/life balance caught up to me. Put me in bed for 2 days. Didn't feel great, had my kids asking what's for dinner, and as a mom made me feel a little guilty for the much needed rest. Then, last night my #2, crawled onto my bed and binge watched a show with me. A show he's watched twice already. That kid is 15 and it was the best.

Remember sometimes when we slow down and take time for ourselves, amazing things happen. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be for you.

Interesting Fact: studies show that people who eat breakfast tend to be healthier.

Researchers aren’t sure whether that’s due to actually eating breakfast … or because people who eat early in the day tend to have healthier habits.

Either way, it’s a positive sign!

Self-care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. It’s also something we very often overlook. Good self-care is key to improved mood and reduced anxiety. It’s also key to a good relationship with oneself and others.
