How It All Started: The Series.

Part One:

After Greg and I started dating, we went for a drive one day and went past a building in downtown. He told me that he always thought it would be cool to have a bike shop on the main floor and live above. ✨

Later that summer, I was driving past and saw someone up on the front roof, painting. I decided to stop and talk to them about the building. The man told me that the non-profit organization next to it owned the building, so I went next door. I asked the woman at the desk if I could leave my contact information for them to call if they ever decide to sell the building.

Well, we got a call soon after, asking us if we'd like to look at the building. We went to look at it, even though it was a bit of a shock to hear back so quickly...

⚠️ A few reasons to not buy a bike from a department store…! We found multiple misassembled bikes while out doing some shopping. This is not the first time we’ve spotted this. We are surprised we don’t hear of more serious accidents happening because of this kind of “assembly”.
📍Stop by your local bike shop to see what they have or can get before resorting to a department store for your bike needs.
Another interesting thing we observed is that the parts they had in stock (like tires and tubes) were similarly priced or more than what we carry. So, again, check with locally owned shops before going to department stores or that online place.

We have lots of miscellaneous parts and accessories from a family member who passed away. He was a bike mechanic and avid cyclist.

☀️ We weren’t really expecting 60 degree days when we planned this and apologize that we aren’t able to take in repairs for the next week or so. We are trying to work through this as quickly as we can.

Thinking of our friend, Terry, as we do many days since he left us.

Remembering Terry Shay, Dot Day Founder and Friend — The Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning & Creativity On September 28, 2023, creative educator and consummate dot connector Terry Shay, of Waterloo, Iowa, passed away suddenly. The outpouring of grief around the globe was a testament to the fact that Terry truly made his mark on the world.
