A new techique
Day two of Kaye Collins very special class . Our eight students learned from Kaye today a revolutionary new technique . This group are the only quilters on the planet that now know it . Look for HandiQuilter and accuquilt to formerly announce Kaye’s new technique!

Well it’s a really exciting time at the store . Lots to do to get ready for Tuesday , the first day of the New England Shop Hop.
Yarn window display
I am just so impressed with the current yarn window display . We are so blessed to have a very creative staff in both the fabric side and yarn side of the business . Now I did discover, I did make a mistake in the video . There is actually a small charge for the pattern on Ravelry.
New bag kits from Australia!!
Absolutely loved the bags so I ordered them all!
She just created a trunk show for Wonderfil Thread who is distributing her kits . We will have the trunk show for the last two weeks in July and will have them on display at Maine Quilts . Also made arrangements for her to do Zoom classes from Australia . We will be doing the Zoom classes in the store with one of instructors involved in teaching the classes.
I guarantee everyone is going to love her designs . Lots of different bag styles!
It is a very happy day when we are able to support such a great cause! Had fun seeing the fabrics they choose ,which were mostly novelty sports prints . I can see the smiles the pillows will bring young boys going through their difficult journey.

In Hartford for the introductory class using the Singer Momentum 24 cutting system . Really impressed with the system - from the free software that is integrated into the Sew Net software , the super easy navigation on the LCD screen and most important flawless cutting on all materials including this quilters cotton fabric . The left holder holds the pens , which in this case is a water erasable marker and to the left are the cutters which for fabric is a tiny rotary cutter. Within the software you design your fabric pieces and then go to a menu to add a border for the cut . So for a quilting piece you just put in .025 and you have a perfect quarter inch allowance !

This is why we cannot advertise our classes . We limit classes to six to give each student the attention they need , thus classes are usually filled . Now if we had more instructors !

Always a treat to have this group of the bards friends come in each year . I always let them do what they want to read . This year though I asked to have some tragic sonnets read .
