Please come see Shagbark Art Glass' work in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Parade of Homes in Lisbon, WI starting August 13th until Sept. 5th. I am honored to be included with Tim O'Brien homes of Pewaukee. Thank-you Tim O'Brien and company for this wonderful opportunity!
Shagbark's logo, and storefront sign, I created many years ago with the lead came glass technique. The lettering is made with Dichroic glass ( changes color). The background is mouthblown Fischer glass and hand rolled Uroboros glass. The triangular glass panel was mounted on black wood. The words "Art Glass" were bonded onto the green glass. There are a few enhancements made with photoshop for graphic purposes.

This will be leaded art glass for a great room. The hawk in the center will be omitted to allow more view to the outside. The birds will be fused glass.
I spent most of the day drawing a proposal outside, with a mourning dove two feet away from me. My proposal drawing is all about birds.
Cherp, cherp!
Installed today in Oconomowoc Lake, WI for Stan and Janelle and family.
White cranes frequent their yard and even tap on their windows wanting food, so, the request for this glasswork I created was to include two white cranes flying into the sunset. The practical purpose of the art glass window is to help filter the intense evening sun. Ironic eh? The sun filters the sun.
I am so blessed to be called upon to create this glasswork for their living room.
On the workbench. A blast of sun with White Cranes in flight. Cranes are fused glass.
The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated today. Old works from Shagbark Art Glass's archives.

I am creating a springtime art nouveau glass piece. Here I am opening the kiln and making a new discovery. It may need more frit (glass powder) added and a second firing before leading up.
Prairie School Style leaded glass newly completed. Features iridescent green pinchback jewels, German Antique Rivulleta, Pilkington Cotswald, Seeded, Fibroid yellow, Bullseye Iridescent red and opal amber glasses.
9-7/8" x 22"
Available for purchase. (PM for cost and more detailed photos).
Window restoration completed with black patina.
I am starting a window restoration job in Milwaukee. The windows are broken and damaged. The glass is rare--- a dimpled texture with chicken wire embedded. The windows are made with zinc came. Old zinc is almost impossible to solder, so, some sections will be made with new zinc. I am always welcoming a new challenge.

I delivered these leaded/beveled cabinet doors today, to a happy designer. I Collaborated with Anna at Peridot Design Group in Franklin, WI.
The main glass, surrounded by a beveled border, is Cottswald, made by Pilkington. Great glass in cabinetry for obscurity objects in the cabinet, while being elegant at the same time.
(Fun fact: Pilkington, an English company, invented float glass in the 1960's. Float glass is what almost every window is made of. Much smoother and optically clear. Pilkington also makes several textures, as employed here).
A short video on fabricating them will follow this post.
Fascinated with Dichroic glass. This figure of the mythilogical Echo was created with Dichroic glass. Compare photos of the same glass panel in different light conditions.
Several zinc came glass double hung windows (and some not restored with came) in this historic Milwaukee home needed to be re-made. I am re-installing this week. My next post shows a short video of me glazing one back into the frame.
