Well everyone, deer season is here! You know what stinks? Deer never have Insurance, but that's why you do! 🦌
Obviously, hitting a deer is unfortunate but it happens and sometimes we can't avoid it. Never swerve to miss a deer! ONLY BRAKE. It is understandable that sometimes you're in the moment and react by swerving, this can cause more damage whether your run off the road or strike another vehicle.
If this happens to be an issue you run into,

FIRST - TURN ON YOUR HAZARDS - PULL OVER only if possible. Collect yourself, yes this is overwhelming. Take a second to calm down.
SECOND - Call the police and DO NOT go check on the animal, it may still be alive.
THIRD - Let the policeman arrive and assess damages with you; however, they may not be able to tell the extent of damage to your vehicle, that is why we are here. The vehicle is NOT drivable if you are leaking fluids, have broken lights, cannot open the hood, doors, etc. At this time you can call the tow truck or the policeman will do it for you.
FOURTH - Contact your insurance as soon as possible to begin the claims process, do not let them bully you into a photo app for an estimate, bring it to us as this will make the process a lot easier.

ON ALL VEHICLES

We will take photos of:
- 4 Corners
- Vin
- Mileage
- Damage
These photos are taken directly into an app we use to write our estimates

Then we will have you come in, get any and all information needed. Our estimate writing can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the amount of damage and we will then explain to you the repair plan of your vehicle.
We like to tell all of our customers that our estimate is ONLY a quote and can change at any time throughout the repair process if we happen to find any additional damage underneath what we had originally seen.

All vehicles are built with all different materials? Steel (many different types), aluminum, rubber and plastic are the most common, All of these materials are well thought out for weight management (that will affect fuel mileage) and most importantly, SAFETY! When a collision happens, the manufacturer has a large say in what can be repaired (IF POSSIBLE) and what is required to be replaced even with minor damage.

A majority of Insurance Policies have betterment (The act or process of improving something.). As stated in https://www.5minuteinsure.com/articles/betterment-clause-what-is-it-and-how-does-it-work/ , betterment can be charged on the replacement or repair of "wear-and-tear" parts, as well as parts that were damaged prior to your accident. Typically it's a percentage of the price for the replacement part/repair, this can include tires and many miscellaneous things.

SUBJECT OF THE DAY: PARTS 😣
We absolutely try our best to get parts here and work done in a timely manner. Unfortunately we have run into more and more backorders and discontinued parts from manufacturers, these issues are out of our control but we will still apologize. When we call our vendors about a backorder and they talk to the manufacturer, a lot of the time they are told there is no ETA -- this means the part will basically show up when it does and they cannot tell our vendor or us a specific time frame. As much as it frustrates our customers, it also frustrates us.

‼2022 CHEVROLET COLORADO‼
We had a customer bring this to our attention today. At the top of the fender, a plastic piece that also sits under the hood, is MISSING! We checked another 2022 Colorado and that one is missing too?! Don't worry GM warranty will take care of it! If you have a 2022 Colorado and you're missing this same piece, bring it in!!

We never expect to get into an accident, things happen that are out of our control.

Here are some tips to make sure you are covered:
☑ Know the amount of your deductible!
☑ If you do not have a spare car, confirm you have rental on your policy!
☑ Know how your insurance claims process works!

You may just think "You're only painting the door."

That is wrong. We have to take everything off that door to make sure there are no hard lines in the paint. Then you have to also think about the paint color, is it a hard color to match? Depending where the damage was to the door, we may have to blend into an adjacent panel (maybe a fender, quarter or other door) then we have to "detrim" that panel as well.

We have been trained to see the damage others may not see at first. This brand new 2022 Rav4 ended up getting a bumper repair and a couple new textured parts that were scratched.

So how can you avoid be a part of these statistics?
1. Drive Defensively
Semis have a slower reaction to avoid collisions. Pay close attention to vehicle locations, traffic flow, vehicle signals, and weather when driving near semis.

2. Keep a Safe Distance
driving too closely to a semi can you leave you at greater risk for being hurt by sudden stops, tire blow outs, or roll overs caused by strong winds

3. Avoid Blind Spots
Semis have much larger blind spots than an average vehicle. Remember, if you can't see their mirrors, they can't see you.

4. Don't cut off a large truck
Semis DO NOT have the stopping distance that a regular passenger car has. To prevent rear end collision make sure you can see the ENTIRE front end of the truck in your review mirror and speed up. Do not merge in front of a semi and then slow down.

5. When passing or driving near a semi turn your brights off. The only time it's acceptable to use your brights is to flick them on and off for a moment to let the semi trying to merge into your lane at night time know that they have the clearance to merge over

6. As a daughter of a semi driver, say thank you. Many old school drivers will will flick their headlights on and off for a moment to say thank you for letting them know they have clearance to merge. If a semi lets you know it's safe to merge extend the same courtesy.

that insurance companies can replace your vehicle's parts with aftermarket or junkyard parts for collision repair UNLESS you have an OEM endorsement on your policy. This even stands true for leased vehicles. Although your lease may state OEM parts must be used for collision repair, ultimately, the insurance company overrides the lease contract.
