How did I get the wooly guitar sounds on my new record “The Marvelous”?
Here are a couple of parts from Midwestern Day.
It all starts with my 1960 Gibson ES-125tc.
Occasionally (and foolishly) derided because of its origin as a student guitar, you turn it up so loud that the feedback is barely controllable.
There’s one pickup, one volume k**b and one tone k**b. You really don’t need many effects at all.
I have the TS9DX set simply to TS9, and then just messing with the expression tremelo at the end.
The best thing is when you surprise yourself with what comes out!
