Here is my opinion on flooring vs epoxy: For a good vinyl plank flooring you will pay around $4 a square ft plus installation of about 2.50 a ft. Now you are looking at 6.50 a ft. It's very durable and water proof (flooring itself). Water will still leak through onto your subfloor. The problem with this is separation it may cause. Your home is constantly settling in which can cause your floor to separate. Then you have to pay someone to come fix it.... another costly expense. With epoxy it usually runs between 4 to 10 dollars a ft. The 4 dollar range is usually for garages. The more expensive stuff is for home flooring, countertops, wall etc. That's an all in price. The great thing about epoxy is that's it is basically plastic. No way it's going to separate! It will flex with settlement of your home. You get to choose what colors and designs to put in it! It's absolutely beautiful and one of a kind. The down side to epoxy is you can't use a harsh or abrasive cleaner to clean it. You will have to clean it with a swifter. The good news it that it's completely 100% Water proof!!!
