Some of you may already know, but for those that don't, we just wanted to update you on a few changes within the salon. Misty Hilliard has taken a leave of absence for an undetermined length of time. She has reached out to some and is doing her best to notify all of her clients. Misty will be in touch when she is ready to start scheduling appointments.

We also wanted you to know that Kat Fridley is no longer working at Blue Dog. Again, we are doing our best to notify her already scheduled clients and get them rescheduled if we can.

We understand that this is an inconvenience to some of you who had appointments already scheduled with Misty or Kat, as we share in your frustration. We ask that you please be patient as we try to work through this challenging period. We (Brandi and Marisa) currently have full schedules with our own existing clients and are unable to take on all of Misty and Kat’s appointments. We will do our best to accommodate who we can, and we ask that you please give us a little bit of grace. With that being said, we are taking a pause on accepting new clients until we can get this all straightened out.

UPDATE!!! Bo is surrendered and ready for a home!!!

Looking for yet another miracle!! PLEASE SHARE!!! Today the Nelson County field team visited a bunch of outside dogs. We need to find a soft place to land for sweet Bo! After a life lived outside he can be surrendered if we have somewhere for him to go! Next step is a vet appointment for a check up, bath, and senior blood work 🥰

“We did several welfare check stops today and to drop straw. Not sure if you remember Bo, a blue tick hound. He's been there for years. We were there a couple months ago and again today. He has lost a lot of weight. He hasn't hunted "in years" and is never out of his small kennel. He's about 13. I had a heart to heart with the owner's wife about how tough winter is going to be on him with his age and weight loss. I told her if they would consider letting him live out his days as an inside dog to let us know. Jill also shared her story with them about R***r. We weren't even home yet and they called and said they would love for him to be someone's inside pampered dog.” 👏👏👏👏

He is still outside and we can’t pull him without foster committment! It’s so cold tonight. PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE!!!

We are booking out about 2-3 weeks right now. We have had a lot of clients showing up late or cancelling last minute. When you show up late it pushes the rest of your groomers appointments back for that day. When you cancel last minute it is impossible for your groomer to fill that appointment spot. When you cancel last minute or do not show up for your scheduled appointment your groomer makes $0. We do have policies in place for when this occurs and we will be charging the appropriate fees moving forward.

** Rescheduling, cancellations, and no-shows: Blue Dog requires a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. Failure to give the required notice will result in a no-show or last-minute cancellation fee of $15 added to the next scheduled appointment for the first occurrence. Repeat cancellations will result in a deposit of 50% of the estimated groom for the next appointment. Repeat no-shows will result in full prepayment for the next scheduled appointment or refusal of service **

UPDATE:

The best thing happened. Welvin was reunited with a previous owner who had been hoping to get him back one day. It was a beautiful reunion and he now has a warm, safe home, and a family who loves him and will spoil him rotten.

We wanted to share some information about how we operate, as well as some updated policies that we have put into place.

• The groomers at Blue Dog Grooming rent booth space and are independent contractors. They work for themselves.

• While your dog is in our care, please keep your phones with you. Your groomer may have questions for you and/or need your immediate attention.

• Drop off: Please arrive on time for your dog’s appointment to ensure that there is enough time to groom your dog and to help keep our schedule for the day on time. You may only drop off early if you have arranged in advance with your groomer. Arriving 15 minutes late or more may result in a cancelled appointment and a no-show or late fee of $15 should we still be able to accommodate you. Give us a call if you are running behind.

• Pick up: Blue Dog will text or call you when your dog is 15 minutes from being completed. On-time pick-up is required since we have limited kennel space and do not offer daycare services. Dogs must be picked up within one hour of completion notification.

• Rescheduling, cancellations, and no-shows: Blue Dog requires a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. • Payment and pricing: Our prices are a starting point. Therefore, prices can fluctuate depending on a change in haircut, the size of your dog at the time of service, the condition of the coat, or the length of time between appointments.

• Duration of Grooming: A typical grooming appointment takes approximately 2–4 hours, depending on your dog’s size, coat type, health, attitude, and the services you choose. You’re not going to be the groomer's only client, so another reason why it takes so long is that there are multiple dogs there waiting to get groomed. Please do not call or visit to inquire about the groom's status. While we understand your concern, please know that each time we stop to answer the phone or speak to you in person, we are pulled away from grooming the dog on our table, and that puts us a little more behind each time. Grooming takes a lot of patience, skill, and time, and we take pride in our work. We do our best to not waste time, and it is certainly not our goal to keep your dog all day long. Rushing your groomer causes a great deal of stress for them as well as your dog, which could put them both at risk of injury.

• Trust your groomer! Let us know ahead of time if you have a time constraint or deadline. Don’t rush them. Wait for their text or call. Your dog is in good hands.

Everyone please welcome Marisa Sortisio to the Blue Dog Crew.
She has been grooming since 2011. She loves grooming all breeds, but schnauzers, doodles and goldens are her favorite!
She moved here from Buffalo,NY with her husband, dogs, cats, reptiles and quail.
