Cyrus Ridge Farm is a small 50 acre farm located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, within the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We began this journey in 2019 on a mission to raise Micro and Miniature Scottish Highlands with quality genetics, docile dispositions, and to generationally reduce the size of our calves.
Our goal at Cyrus Ridge Farm is to use interactive education and practical hands on experience to help others learn more about the Micro and Miniature Scottish Highland Cattle breed, as well as Valais Blacknose Sheep.
Innovation Starts Small: We hope to encourage the current and next generation of small ranchers and homestead enthusiasts to utilize miniature cattle to discover new opportunities. With all the advantages of full-sized cattle, Micro and Mini Scottish Highlands are made for the modern farming practices of todays every changing world! Small in size, big in impact is what we like to say! Above all, we dedicate the farm, the cattle, the animals, and our efforts to the Glory of God.
Born 1 week ago today! A sweet little boy from Jaden, whose coat is as dark as night. We decided to name him Ebon, which means black.
We are thinking he Sire is either Diesel, our dun bull, or Henry, the HiPark bull we had and sold last summer.
Sometimes, I think getting DNA back on these calves is just as exciting as when they are born. For now, we wait and make guesses on what we think and talk about how cute they are. ๐โฆ See more
Thank you everyone for your name suggestions for the little dun bull on the left. We decided to name him Edwin! ๐ฅฐ I feel like that fits him so well.
Here's Edwin, just hanging out with his buddy, Eli! โค๏ธ๐ฎ
Get those name suggestions ready again because we had another calf born this morning. ๐
As our herd grows, we will begin offering some of them for sale to good homes. We often sell our miniature cows as pets, or as companions for other outside livestock.
Miniature cows are herd animal
Please if youโre interested in getting any of our miniature cows ๐ or are new to them but love to get one , please message me for details
Thanks ๐
The 3 amigos; Edgar, Ethan, and Enzo. We are considering retaining Ethan and selling Deonte. It's such a hard decision when they all look so cute.
So we've moved Ethan to our June auction and moved Enzo up to the May auction. This will give us some time to see how he continues to grow and hopefully be able to make a decision.
There are also two other bulls we really love this year, sooo we are on the struggle bus for sure. ๐
What did the mama cow say to the baby cow?
It's pasture bedtime. ๐ด

There's a new calf in the fields, meet Evertt! At first appearance, he looks like a dun color, but the light undercoat and the white around his eyes and nose make me think he's actually silver. DNA will confirm it for us, but if he is silver, this would be our first ever silver bull. ๐ฑ๐ฅฐ
What do you think?
Tiny little Elsa is small enough to walk right underneath her mama! She's so cute and sassy!
Esme is chondro positive and white in color and will be available in our upcoming auction, along with some of her fluffy friends on May 15th.
You can see more details at Bid.CyrusRidge.com
We need a name for this fluffy dude!
I realized the other day that I never named Samantha's bull calf. He's already almost a month old, too. ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ
I'm slightly obsessed with him. I love his color, his stature, and how friendly and curious he is. Let's give him the best "E" name!
Every day, we are blessed with two golden hours, one just after sunrise and another one just before sunset. The stunning golden magic of mother nature.
Iโm not one of those people who wakes up and thinks, โBring on the day!โ I have to have about 3 cups of coffee and silence for the first 30 minutes before Iโm even remotely awake. Here lately, I've been taking note of golden hour. It's such a beautiful reminder to me that no matter how bad things might seem, thereโs always something beautiful waiting for me.
Do you enjoy a good golden hour? Is morning or evening your favorite? Oddly enough, sunsets and the morning golden hour are my favorite. ๐
We are so excited to introduce to you our new tour tram. The tram can seat 12 people, but 8 adults comfortably. ๐
We are hoping this adds to your tour experience and makes it easier to get to where the cows are, even if they're hiding in the shade. ๐คฃ
We are almost completely booked for all of our spring and summer dates. If you are considering a visit to our farm this fall, now is the time to schedule your tour!
Be sure to scroll towards the end to see what the tram looked like when we got it. โค๏ธ
When your Mama steps on your foot and you're trying to play it cool and act like she isn't a massive cow.
