I love using old and discarded things as tools to design my creations of ceramic art.
Getting back to the Green Door Art Gallery was a blast today my first selfie of my wall pocket pottery air plants and dry flowers holders are in the background with all my artist friends behind me!
Mary Engelbreit's books are back at Green Door Art Gallery located at 21N Gore, Webster Groves, MO. Open 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday!
Green Door Art Gallery next exhibition is The Writing on the Wall. Today I got the privilege of meeting Raku artist Nancy Exarhu-Holz of Studio Excargot Fine Art. Everyone always ask Jerry C. Williams Sr., if he does Raku. He does not but I promised those who asked when the gallery gets a Raku artist I would post it on our page. Picture and post by Lea Ann Nall-Williams.
Our Pearly Girl is doing great she has her favorite toy it is a blue duck. I am looking for a spare incase she tears it up. She had an eventful weekend. Got to meet 4 members of her new human family and many of our artist friends and family! She loves to travel! I think I will be able to make a few things with her paw prints for Open Door Animal Sanctuary fundraising event in August! Our home is full of life again! So very blessed we are to get this precious pup!
Pearly Girl is awesome!

This will be available at Green Door Art Gallery reception this Friday May 17th from 5pm to 8pm at 21 N Gore Webster Groves MO. Published exactly 52 years ago. Still current.
Left to right row one will be Petunia by Kentucky Mudworks. Row 2 Coyote Dusty Rose. Row 3 Coyote Sky and Row 4 KY Mudworks Ocean Mist. All translucent or Celadon glazes. Clay body is Kentucky Mudworks of Iceman with grog. Fired in a bisque fire at cone 010. For other potters who fire and use their electric this is a bit cheaper. Glaze fire will be cone 6. For the bisque fire we soaked it for 6 hours but since new elements were replaced we going to soak it with only the top elements. We are going to try to now fire greenware that is only completely dry. We then fired it on medium using top and bottom elements for 2 hours and the bar of 010 shut off on high after an hour.
This is my reclaim of Kentucky Mudworks White Bear reclaim and I also added some Iceman with grog to the reclaim. The glaze is KY Mudworks of Ocean Mist. Applied 3 coats to each piece. Cone 6 firing. Two hours low two hours medium and went to bed when I flipped the switch to high. Love the glaze!
Amaco Brent Copper Red applied 3 coats with Langnickel brush. Top one is in reclaim clay body of Kentucky Mudworks of White Bear with Kentucky Mudworks Iceman with grog. Bottom is Kentucky Mudworks clay body of Big Turtle. The underglazes used on the back is top Mayco Pink Pink wiped of with a sponge and bottom is Amaco Cinnamon I painted the middle thick amd wiped my regular paint brush into the lace pattern. Cone 6 fire. 2 hours low 2 hours medium and went to bed when it was put on high. I am calling all things I use in Copper Red by Amaco The Dale. I picked the glaze because when my mom meet my dad she said his wavy beautiful hair was as red like a copper penny. I only remember my dad with very little hair red hair on top.
So yesterday I spent the whole day glazing. This piece had a different sound and I ask Jerry C. Williams Sr. can you tell if there is a huge air bubble he said no it is cracked and will show up in the glaze firing. This kiln other than 1 piece is entirely made of Kentucky Mudworks reclaim of White Bear with some Iceman with grog clay added. The I am in anticipation of what is under these pieces. I have been bragging about Iceman with and without grog so Krueger was out. I have been bragging about the glaze from Kentucky Mudworks of Sea Side and Krueger was out so I picked up this Coyote glaze of Sky and it is absolutely beautiful just like KY Mudworks of Sea Side. I believe the beautiful pastel green still in the kiln is Kentucky Mudworks Ocean Mist. All glazes where applied with a Langnickle series 788. There are some things in the kiln that I had to add water to the glazes that were Amaco Brent and Mayco glazes that I hope I brought them back to life.
Copper Red Amaco Potters Choice glaze applied 3 times to the front and Cinnamon Amaco Underglaze used on the back. Kentucky Mudworks clay body of Big Turtle.
I love the Western glaze of Ultra Turquoise on Kentucky Mudworks clay body of Big Turtle! This is not a food safe glaze. Fired at cone 6 glaze fire with 3 coats of this beautiful glaze. Pictures, post, and pottery by Lea Ann Nall-Williams.
Perfect gifts for Mother's Day. Dry Flower or air plant holders now available at Green Door Art Gallery. For an additional fee they can be shipped. Pottery, pictures, and post by Lea Ann Nall-Williams.
This is Kentucky Mudworks Iceman with grog clay body and for the glaze I choose 1 coat of Mayco Oatmeal, then 2 coats of Kentucky Mudworks Sea Side, with 2 coats of Mayco Himalayan Salt. This piece was fired to cone 6. I see just Himalayan Salt on a future piece. I am loving Iceman with grog! This would make an excellent dry flower holder or grandma's Doilie or handkerchief holder.
This is another piece of Kentucky Mudworks White Bear Clay body with Mayco Himalayan Salt (NOT FOOD SAFE) 3 coats fired to cone 6.
Everything always looks better and brighter when the sun is shining!
