This past weekend, the children of Miss Gabbi’s art class visited ! 🎨 They wandered around the museum in search of art created by the “art friends” they learned about in class. And they loved getting to discover the mummies!

We’ve done the math and… THERE IS ONLY ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION! 🤯

Warmer weather means the return of the water table during playtime! 💧

Rain showers, muddy puddles, and cloudy days — nothing could stop us from celebrating family and community today at our Family Day Garden Party! 💐

Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy a lunch at school, make crafts, playing in the water table, and just enjoy the warm company of the Faith Academy community.

Mrs. Moore’s group recently adopted a polar bear named Ella! 🐻‍❄️ They take turns wearing the bracelet that came along with the adoption and get to check in on her movements up in northern Canada.

In formation of numbers, the children are preparing for the mathematical operations. ➕➖✖️➗

Once the child has a firm understanding of a units, tens, hundreds, and thousands — they are able to move onto the famous “bank game” or collective exercises of addition.

Another way children learn about their world is through the puzzle maps. 🗺️

Happy Solar Eclipse Day! 🌞🌝

The children worked on a themed art project. They enjoyed gathering together as a community to view the eclipse. The children love any time that they can share their space with their families. 💛

The Thermic Tablets are six pairs of tablets made of different materials. The primary purpose is for children to pair the various materials together by temperature rather than by texture. 🌡️ The materials used are cork, glass, felt, wool, steel, and slate.

But children may pair the tablets based on appearance, weight, texture, or temperature.

Children take inspiration from their lessons. 💭✍️

They can use vocabulary cards to learn new words, and then can use those vocabulary cards while working with their moveable alphabet!

Did you know that Dr. Montessori’s first color tablets were actually bobbins wrapped in silk?

The children love taking care of their environment and everything in it. 🌱💚

The children absolutely loved being able to try out Mrs. Love’s child-sized violin in music class! 🎻

Children joyfully collaborate and celebrate their successes in the classroom space together. ✨

After mastering one of the maps, children love being able to create a map of their own. 🌐

Once they are able to name every piece on the map they’re working on and recognize the names in print, they are able to watercolor paint the map they’ve just completed.

This combines various lessons, such as geography, watercolor painting, and handwriting.

The children enjoy learning mindfulness with Ms. Jeanne during our after school yoga program. 🧘
