At School of Rock Clear Lake, we don't teach music to put on shows - we put on shows to teach music. Students are assigned songs selected to develop them as musicians and work on them in private lessons with their instructors, as well as in weekly rehearsals with groups made up of their peers. The season culminates with performances at our seasonal shows, where they can show you everything they've been working on throughout the season!

School of Rock Clear Lake remains without power, so we will stay closed through Saturday, July 13 at least. Please stay tuned! Hope you’re all doing well! We miss you!!
Hi, everyone!
School of Rock Clear Lake, Sugar Land, and Champion Forest will remain closed on Friday, July 12. Our schools are still dismantled (not as bad as when we first elevated everything), and we’re also still without power at two of the schools 😞
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this trying time. Please stay safe, check in on your neighbors, and lend a hand where you can. We’ll get through this together!
Hi, everyone! Alyx here. We will remain closed through Thursday. 2/3 of our schools still do not have power, and about 50% (maybe a little more, rough estimate) of our staff are still without power. We’re not sure how many of our families have power, so chime in if you would like with the area of town you’re in and whether or not you have power.
Seeing the community come together and power slowly being restored is nice. Around my neck of the woods, gas has been slowly coming back as stations regain power, and people seem to be coming together to help one another. If you’d like to share some resources here for everyone, feel free. I’ve seen people post things about certain businesses opening up cabins for families around Sugar Land area and other businesses throughout Houston welcoming folks to come charge phones, hang in the AC, and things like that. That’s the beautiful side of these chaotic, sometimes tragic storms.
Take care, everyone! Stay cool, and we’ll keep you updated. Very much hoping to reopen Friday, but we’ll find out tomorrow. Just day by day in these kinds of situations.
Hi, everyone!
While some of us are slowly getting power back, a lot of folks are still trying to handle power outages, property damage, and low gasoline supplies for generators and cars. With that in mind, we will remain closed on Wednesday, July 10.
If you need help, we have a lot of folks who would not hesitate to help you out! Please feel free to reach out on this thread or privately.
We will continue to update you here, via email, and on our community page. Stay safe!
Greetings, SOR Community!
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Due to the coming storm, Beryl, School of Rock has decided to close today, July 7 through Monday, July 8. We will continue monitoring the weather, and a decision about Tuesday will be communicated.
Please let us know if you need anything, and stay safe!
Join us this evening at the Lawn at Baybrook Mall for some live music and family fun! See you there 🤘
Artist Workshop Series

Marzi Montazeri
With groundbreaking musicianship and energetic showmanship, Marzi Montazeri (aka “The High Priest of Distortion”), is a guitarist and producer from Houston, Texas. Marzi has consistently been an exciting draw for fans throughout the years, bringing varying styles to his music. Along the way, he has redefined electric guitar technique while changing the sound, structure, and style of the instrument itself.
In the 1990’s, Marzi joined Superjoint Ritual and is featured on the last two tracks of the first album. By March of 2010, Marzi rejoined forces with Philip Anselmo to work on what would be Anselmo’s first solo project since the end of Pantera. In his time with Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, Marzi recorded two EP’s, “War Of The Gargantuas”, and “Housecore Horror”. Following up with a full length album, “Walk Through Exits Only” reached number 34 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. In 2015, Marzi went back out on his own and created Crunchy Western Records.
He consequently released a 6 track EP called the “The Uprising” featuring Tim ”Ripper” Owens in 2017. This effort was followed by a full length release by Heavy As Texas in April of 2019, featuring Kyle Thomas on vocals. Kyle then invited Marzi to join the newly reformed Exhorder. Marzi joined Exhorder in November 2017, and is featured on the September 2019 release of the band’s long awaited third release, “Mourn The Southern Skies”.
Marzi, along with many other things, currently teaches at School of Rock Clear Lake and Sugar Land with hope to educate and inspire the future of music. Marzi's workshops will offer insight into his path as a musician, his signature guitars and basses with Solar guitars, his band Heavy as Texas, and more!

Cecilia Yi and Jason Kline, the owners of 5 School of Rock locations in Northern California, are not afraid to take on large construction projects in order to create unique spaces for their schools. The couple's creativity was evident in the very first School of Rock location they opened, which is situated inside the historic Independent Order of Odd Fellows building in the heart of Elk Grove.
Cecilia and Jason are well-known in the School of Rock community for their design flair. Not only do they fully renovate a space to give it the full School of Rock effect, but they have built walls out of retired speakers, adorned hallways with custom School of Rock drumsticks, and hand-cut the iconic School of Rock branded guitar swirl for the exterior of their schools.

School of Rock Perrysburg is turning heads and turning up the volume as they hit the 7-month mark! 🎉
Meet the mastermind behind it all: Ronald Rothenbuhler. Like many of our franchise owners, Ron's professional background lies outside of music - he graduated from college with a psychology degree and then began selling cable services door-to-door. He went on to have a successful career in the field with Adelphia, Comcast, and AT&T.
His journey at School of Rock began when his daughter became interested in the drums and he enrolled her at School of Rock Ann Arbor. He was inspired by the school's vibrant culture and the life-changing impact of its programs, leading him to open his own School of Rock in Perrysburg. Now, the school is celebrating it's 7-month anniversary and thriving. Take a look!

In just 3 weeks since opening their doors, School of Rock Beavercreek is already making waves with 50 students enrolled! We are blown away by the incredible response from our community.
Meet the power couple behind it all: Amanda and Nathan Warden. Amanda has been homeschooling their four kids their entire lives and has stepped into the role of General Manager at the Beavercreek location. Nathan, a technical sales engineer at a local company serving the aerospace and defense industries has been playing in bands since he was 12 years old. Their backgrounds and shared love for music make them the perfect owners for our newest school in Ohio.
"School of Rock is the merger of worlds I’m in and love, music and education for kids," says Amanda. "It was kind of the sweet spot. We knew we wanted to build something, not just for us but that our own kids and the community could all enjoy. The kids are so excited about this. Homeschooling is its special little world. This is exciting because we're going to get to be with the broader community more regularly. We're really excited about that.”
Take a look at this vibrant new school.
Last week, we hosted School of Rock Overdrive at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, where nearly 600 franchise owners, operators, corporate staff members, and partners came together to connect, share stories, and learn from each other in the heart of Music City.
This gathering was a perfect reminder of the fact that at School of Rock, we don't just teach music, we save lives - a sentiment that was woven through every session, panel, and conversation that took place throughout the event.
School of Rock community members from countries around the world participated in a wide range of learning and training sessions that covered essential topics related to our mission of enriching lives through performance-based music education. These sessions included discussions on how to better support neurodiverse students with the guidance of our partners at Autism Today, how to create more open and accepting spaces for the LGBTQ+ community, how to improve support for youth mental wellness with the Society for the Prevention of Teen Su***de, and so much more.
Outside of these learning sessions, 209 staff members took the stage at 3rd & Lindsley to perform 45 songs during our infamous "Jam Night"! It was an electrifying evening filled with music, energy, and pure joy. What made it even more special was that all the songs performed were selected from our curriculum, representing the rich and diverse range of artists and genres we teach at School of Rock.
We closed out an epic few days with an awards ceremony to celebrate not just achievements, but the passion and dedication that fuels our collective success. During this ceremony, it was with great pride and admiration that we presented School of Rock’s 2023 Franchisee of the Year award to the owners of School of Rock McKinney, School of Rock Rockwall and School of Rock NorthDallas - Fran Rapattoni, Kiva Rapattoni, Dalton Rapattoni, Shannon Jabczynski, and Susie McFadden. This remarkable group embodies the core values that serve as the foundation of our mission. Their integrity, optimism, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to both their students and their peers serve as an inspiration to all the owners and operators in our system.
We returned from Nashville with a deep appreciation for our passionate community, and we are thrilled about the future of School of Rock.

At School of Rock, our instructors don't just teach music – they ignite passion, confidence, and creativity in every student they meet. Let's dive into what makes our teachers truly legendary:
Our instructors are the masters of our patented School of Rock Method™. They pair one-on-one lessons with group rehearsals and live performances, showing students how to play together as a band. With their guidance, our students perform on real stages and unleash their inner rockstars.

Thanks to our teachers, practicing isn't a chore. They harness the power of our Method App to keep students engaged with interactive exercises, real-time feedback, and endless song possibilities. With our teachers leading the way, every practice session becomes a stepping stone to greatness.
Our teachers don't just teach music theory – they make it rock 'n' roll. Through our Method Books, authored by our own passionate team of educators, they break down complex techniques with the help of iconic songs - because learning should be as thrilling as performing.

The school staff generously volunteered their time to raise funds for the school's scholarship program to make music education more accessible to people from all financial backgrounds. The energy was truly electric as their Show Team rocked a small set, but the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the participation of students from School of Rock Glenbrook's Rookies, Rock 101, and Performance Programs.
