The Wells Antiques Show & Sale has been called one of the best shows in New England featuring 75 dealers from 9 states selling fine antiques in every field
We are pleased to let everyone know about a new antiques show and an old concept that will be new again - the Connecticut River Valley Antiques & Historic Homes Show to be held on October 19 & 20 at the Haddam Elementary School in Haddam, CT. It is a joint effort by the Haddam Historical Society & Goosefare Antiques & Promotions. The main focus is the Antiques Show portion with 30 of New England's (and beyond) best antiques dealers in room settings, but with a focus on antiques that are affordable for antique enthusiasts, collectors, and for all the people buying and/or restoring beautiful homes in New England. In support of the Antiques Show, the historic homes portion will; include restorers and people in the restoration industry as well as lectures on how to restore historic homes and how to incorporate antiques into today's interior designs. Save the dates: Saturday, October 19 from 10 to 5 and Sunday, October 20, from 11 to 4. We already have 30 great antiques dealers signed up. More info coming soon.
Getting ready for the Wells Antiques Show on Sunday. The weather forecast says rain Saturday night ending around 7am on Sunday, so we are hopeful of having great weather for the actual show. 78 dealers form 9 state - RAIN OR SHINE - make your plans for a great day. Laudholm Farm is off of Route 1 behind the Maine Diner. Our signs are already up, so you cannot miss it. If traveling form the South, take Exit 19 (Wells) to Route 1 North. If traveling from the North, take Exit 25 (Kennebunk) to Route 1 South. Laudholm Farm Road is midway between them, 50 yards South of the Main Diner. See you Sunday.

We are all looking forward to the 23rd Wells Antiques Show & Sale on Sunday, June 30th. As always, there will be a tremendous gathering of great antiques dealers from all of the New England states, New York, New Jersey, and Virginia selling 18th, 19th, & early 20th century Furniture, Americana, Folk Art, paintings, prints, books & maps, architectual & garden, weathervanes, nautical, advertising, signs, American Indian, art pottery, cast iron doorstops, art pottery, early china & glass, country americana, black memorabilia, nautical, hooked rugs, decoys, Grenfell mats, garden & architectural antiques, antique & estate jewelry, silver, & smalls, oriental rugs, early 20th c. porcelain & pottery, old signs, Maine related antiques, stoneware, period frames, waterfowl decoys, tools, and country smalls. I will post below pictures of some of the antiques that exhibitors are bringing to the show this year. The Wells Show has 78 exhibitors from 9 states, so customers will have plenty to look at and buy for their collections or to accent their homes. We get dealers and collectors from as far away as Tennessee who come every year to buy and to enjoy this historic farm. There are acres of parking and there is food available at the show. The Wells Antiques Show is held, rain or shine, under large tents, in the 2-story barn, and in the open under dealers individual tents at the historic and spectacular grounds of the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm. The GPS address is 342 Laudholm Farm Road, Wells, Maine. ILaudholm Farm Road is 50 yards south of the Maine Diner on Route 1 in Wells, midway between Exits 19 & 25 of the Maine Turnpike. The show is open from 10 to 3, with no early buyers. Come to enjoy the antiques show and the 2500 acres of Laudholm Farm. (Please note: because of all of the nesting birds and other wildlife, Laudholm does not allow dogs to walk the grounds). Adult admission is $10.00, but with a printout of this post, admission is $9.00. Hope to see you all there.

It has been miserably hot but we have been out distributing cards and posters for the upcoming Wells Antiques Show scheduled for Sunday, June 30th, from 10 to 3. If you are in. Southern Maine, we have put cards in most antiques shops along Route 1. We did the following towns: York, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Arundel, Biddeford, S**o, Cape Porpoise, Biddeford Pool, Fortune's Rocks, Hill's Beach, Goose Rocks Beach, and everywhere along the way. We also put cards and posters in most motels, restaurants, post offices, ice cream stores, and many clothing and gift stores in these areas. If you want a discount admission card and cannot print it out here, look in these towns and stores, or check your local newspapers for our ads. Hope to see you all on June 30 - at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. Worth the trip - 79 exhibitors from 9 states bringing and selling fabulous antiques. RAIN OR SHINE!!! Plan Ahead! The 23rd Wells Antiques Show & Sale is in just 4 weeks. For those of you who follow our antiques shows, you know that the Wells Show is one of our best and probably the most fun. It is outdoors, under tents, and in the barn at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. Approximately 80 dealers from 9 states selling wonderful real antiques. Rain or Shine - the customers come by the hundreds. Last year the parking fields were full all day and the buying and loading into cars and vans went on for hours. The show is Sunday, June 30th, from 10 to 3. There is no early buying. we open promptly at 10. Hope to see you all there. Check back for more info as the month goes on. Finished putting all of the sides on the tents yesterday and marking off the fields and we are almost all set for the 22nd Wells Antiques Show tomorrow, Sunday, June 25th, from 10 to 4 - RAIN OR SHINE. About the thirds of the 77 dealers are under these tents or in the 2 stories of the wonderful barn, with about a third bringing their own tents and covering the grounds. We are all looking forward to seeing you
The Wells Antiques Show is this Sunday, June 25, at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. It is a fabulous antiques show featuring over 75 dealers from 9 states(see list below) that attracts collectors, buyers, and antique enthusiasts from all over the country. When we were doing the Nashville Show, several customers said that they go to the Wells Show every year to buy. The Wells Show is known for its 18th & 19th c. Americana, country, furniture, folk art and the like, but it also has dealers specializing in jewelry and silver, MidCentury, art pottery, oriental rugs, advertising and signs, stoneware, and more. If you like antiques and can make it, you will not be disappointed. The show is held "Rain or Shine", under tents, in 2 floors in the barn and in the open. There is no early buyers. The Show is open from 10 to 4. There are acres of parking in the Laudholm fields. And if you like hiking, Laudholm also has trails that go through their 2500 acres fro the farmhouse down to the ocean. Great 18th & 19th century antiques, great dealers, food available, and always a good time. Hope to see you there. I will include some pictures of last year's show so you can see what it is like.

It will feature over 75 exhibitors from 9 states (see exhibitor list below) selling a wide range of really quality antiques in 2 stories of the barn, under three large tents, many individual tents and in the open. The Wells Antiques Show is widely known as one of the best antiques shows and sales in New England. We have exhibitors from as far away as Ohio coming to sell and we have customers from as far away as Tennessee coming to shop. There are acres of free parking. Admission is $10, or $8 if you bring in a copy of this post. The Show is held Rain or Shine! While we were out distributing show cards and posters in the Kennebunk and Kennebunkport areas today, several Wells exhibitors were busy sending us some new pictures of what they are bringing to the sale on June 26th. Let's start with a rare 18th c baby tender, an early 1900s Sanderling shorebird decoy in winter plumage and original paint, a Delinieres & Co. (D&Co.) Limoges Art Deco Fruit Design Centerpiece Bowl (Signed/c.1910-1930's), and an Antique Buddy-L sit on dump truck. How is that for diversity. The Wells Show is two weeks from today. Here are a few more pictures of antiques that the exhibitors will be bringing to sell on the 26th. The first picture is an American cherry corner stand, c. 1820, with a 16th century Nuremberg brass candlestick on top, followed by a Blown bellows form Whimsy c. 1870, and finally a Revere Pottery vase. Getting ready for the Wells Antiques Show on June 26th from 10 to 4. We have over 75 great dealers signed up, most of whom are returning dealers and many of whom have done the show for all 21 years. The show will again be held under our 3 large tents, in the barn on 2 floors, and outdoors under individual dealers tents and in the open. It is always held RAIN OR SHINE!!! Save your antiques money and plan your buying trip for June 26th at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm. If you have never been to this show, it is located off Route 1 in Wells between Wells and Kennebunk, almost directly behind the Maine Diner. Look for Laudholm Farm Road. Hope to see you there.
Time for more pictures of items that the exhibitors will be bringing to the Wells Antiques Show on Sunday, June 26th. Let's start with a wonderful Tourist Sign (25 x 11) in very nice original blue sanded w/ white lettering followed by a Pair of japanned end tables decorated with painted faux blue tiles, a French adjustable 19thc bouillette table lamp (with beautiful chasing), and 19thc putto. Next, an unsigned early watercolor miniature of a man reading with early spectacles and we'll finish with a great Optical trade sign with electric bulbs. c1920. It works. Time to post more pictures of what exhibitors are bringing to the Wells Antiques Show & Sale on June 26th at Laudholm Farm in Wells Maine. The first is another nice painting - “The Explorers”, Sewall’s Hill, York Maine is an oil on acrylic by Milton Allison; followed by Antique wooden spoke small carriage or wagon wheels, and a PA painted child sized plank seated rocker and bench. Remember the show opens at 10:00 sharp. Three weeks for today!!!
Been out distributing show cards for the Wells Show today along Route 1 in Wells and Kennebunk. Stopped by Laudholm Farm and cannot believe how beautiful it is. Today's picture of antiques coming to the show on June 26 include a great blanket chest from Suffolk County New York w/ original bold paint decoration, crocks include a 3gal Windham Maine with bold floral decoration & a 5gal Charleston Ma with great Grapes and a wonderful landscape by David Bates (1840-1921) English. Today's posting includes a grain painted child size chest (maybe a furniture maker's sample), a RARE Hubley footman door stop with Killer original paint in wonderful condition, and a signed OOC of a busy harbor (believe it to be Margate) by the English marine artist, Thomas Bush Hardy (1842-1897).
