It’s that time of year when we say “until next year” to our much loved staff who are heading back to school.

We couldn’t live without this wonderful warm group of teachers and students who fill our lobster shack with love and warmth every year.

We can’t wait to be together again in 2025

The full time staff will be here until 20th October keeping the doors wide open for customers!

Another magical evening at the Catch last night.

The news is starting to get out….With a full yet heavy heart we want to announce that we are passing along the keys to the restaurant. 20 years has gone by in a flash. Though the memories will last our lifetime.

We were just in our Mid 20’s when we bought the Catch. Amy and I worked tirelessly for the first several years to make a very special restaurant as successful as we could.

With the help from family, friends, and many years of incredible employees we achieved and were living out one of our dreams.

During the early years, the Catch was certainly our baby. It made us laugh and it made us cry. It certainly kept us on our toes and it needed lots of nurturing.

As business was becoming stable, we made our home in beautiful Wells, Maine and then we realized a couple more dreams come true as we were able to start our family! First Vienna and then Hudson began to demand quite a bit more of our time. It was challenging having three babies. However, with the help from our Moms and some incredible staff we began to find a balance between work and home. We started to give up some control and began to trust some truly amazing staff members with managing the Restaurant in our absence. We have been blessed with 20 years of exceptional staff. Some of which have been with us for 12 and 17 and even 20 years!

We will miss so much about The Catch! We will miss the quiet mornings looking out over the marsh before the crazy begins. We will miss the many nights spent on the patio after a busy shift. We will miss regularly seeing so many of our customers who have become friends and some who feel like part of our family. We will miss serving really fresh seafood and the live music on the patio and seeing a child’s reaction to taking a live lobster out of the tank.

We will really miss our staff…..20 years of making friends and working side by side with some of the best individuals we could have ever encountered. Without them, the Catch would not be what it is. I have only worked in two restaurants my whole life but I know what we have in our kitchen and what we have in our Host/take out area and what we have out in our dining room is very special and unlike any other restaurant. We have been very fortunate to call so many of our staff, past and present, friends and like family. We are looking forward to spending time with these friends……as just simply friends. We care deeply for them.

But…they are in good hands! The New owners and management is going to pick up right where we are leaving off. The same great staff will all be there! The new owners are so excited to continue this 40 plus year tradition! We truly believe they are the perfect fit for The Catch and that they will take it to new heights. We are truly excited for them, for the future of our staff and for the future of Fisherman’s Catch Restaurant!

Thank you so much to everyone and anyone that has made any impact on our time at the Catch. We are forever grateful! It has truly been a journey of a lifetime for us! This isn’t goodbye….we’ll CATCH you later!!
