This is my client Torrie, I took this pic right as she popped a lifesaver mint in her cheek 🤭 I’m glad she let me snap it, cause not everyone wants their photos taken.😍

Torrie has been with me for 5 years this month, April 23rd 2018 to be exact!
It was her sister who referred her to me (she too is a ride or die client) for a while there I was seeing what felt like the whole family and a few friends, and to this day a handful are still with me 🤍
And guess what, she drives about an hour to come see me! That is a loyal client right there.

Moral of the story, take care of your clients and your clients will take care of you. 🫶

P.S. Like many clients, she started with classic and we are now doing 2D because time allows, her retention is always impressive.

One of the many things we take into consideration when designing a lash set.

For this client, it didn’t really matter, her lashes are super short so I just followed her natural pattern and placed extensions 2-4mm longer than the natural lashes, trying to get as many on as possible, since her lash line is on the thin side.

This right here is my tried and true go to style for anyone wanting more than classic but less than volume.

I’ve offered this style since day 1 and every time I do this set on someone they absolutely love it 😍

This is a full 2D set (2 extensions to 1 natural lash). I use flat lashes and stagger the lengths to create texture and dimension. The 2D is made by stacking different lengths on 1 natural lash. I don’t think many lash artist take the time to do this, or maybe didn’t even know it was a thing 😉 I believe this style is what set me apart in the beginning….a nice oomph to the traditional classics.

The retention is also awesome and I feel these sets look really nice for a longer period time, shedding isn’t as noticeable, I call this graceful shedding.

This set takes a long time, on average each eye has 80-120 lashes, now double those numbers, that could be 480 extensions placed 1 by 1 in total. Yes, time consuming 😬

I call this set hybrid, because I believe anything above true classics (1 extension to 1 natural lash) is hybrid, or I suppose it could technically be called volume (multiple extensions to 1 natural lash).

When a client schedules hybrid, I give them the option of this, or the traditional method of mixing classic and volume.

This textured look was achieved using a Camellia Lashes.

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard “the last time I had lashes they hurt so bad and were really pokey and achey” or some iteration of that.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL. And is most like caused by the extensions being glued to to skin/waterline, poor isolation (meaning multiple natural lashes and extensions glued/chuncked together) and way too much adhesive.
When this happens, it can hurt to even close your eyes, and when your lashes try to grow out, they tug and poke.

NO BUENO my friends.

Now with that said, there is some exceptions. The day you get your lashes on, your eyes may feel a little weird, you basically just had your eyes taped shut, and if the pad rubbed or fumes got in your eyes, you could feel some post appointment discomfort…but these scenarios are far different from what I mentioned above.
Another thing that can sometimes happen is a lash will twist the wrong way (I’ve had this happen when washing) and if it doesn’t go back the right way it feels a little annoying, again, far different from what’s mentioned above.

If your lash extensions hurt, talk to your artist and see what the issue is. And if your scared to ask her about it, send me a message, I’d be happy to do a lash health check up for you 🤓🤍

Not too long ago, shade was often thrown to lash techs who used premade fans, they’d say you weren’t a “real” lash artist if you didn’t hand make and wrap your fans (which is BS).
It’s refreshing to see lash brands and influencers supporting and promoting premade fans, recognizing and highlighting the value they add to both the client and artist.

Am I the only one who says a little prayer 🙏 before a wispy fill?!
It just takes more mental energy, period.

First, I remove the grown out spikes and fans, then assess where new spikes need to go, map it out AND attempt to make the eyes symmetrical. Unfortunately the eyes aren’t always on the same growth cycle so sometimes there isn’t a “good” natural lash where a spike needs to go.
There’s more stop and go, checking in the mirror etc….
Once I’ve got the spikes set, it’s time to get you full again, this is when I bust my booties to place as many new fans as possible!
At the end I exhale and wipe the sweat from my forehead and pray they look good when my client opens her eyes
