FAQ FRIDAY // This FAQ Friday is all about school zone safety ๐ธ. Superintendent Kalahar and our school resource officers share important tips to help you get to and from school safely this year. Remember, school starts on Wednesday, August 28th.
SLOW DOWN IN SCHOOL ZONES // Wenatchee students are heading back to class, and that means it's time for drivers to be extra cautious in school zones. Together, let's make safety a top priority and ensure a smooth and happy back-to-school season for everyone! Why Slow Down? By slowing down in school zones, you can ensure a safe commute for everyone. Police Enforcement To reinforce safe driving habits, the Wenatchee Police Department will conduct emphasis patrols around school zones during the first few weeks of school. Expect increased police presence to remind drivers to slow down and obey the posted speed limits. Here's What You Can Do: * Pay attention! Put down your phone and focus on the road. * Reduce your speed. When approaching a school zone, slow down to the posted limit. * Watch for crossing signals. Be prepared to stop for students crossing the street. * Look out for children on sidewalks and in driveways. * Be aware of increased walkers in and around Washington and Lincoln Elementary.
YOU BELONG // Today our staff returned to get ready for the new year and they canโt wait to see you and meet you. Schools are hosting welcome events this week for students and families.
