😍 Snickers came in for a self-wash! Although he is clearly a kitty, his Mama used our new reactive dog program to schedule a self-wash before our opening, so he could avoid the doggos. He smells a lot better and will be the floofiest cat on the block now! 😄

Even small amounts of xylitol (also known as birch sugar) can be life-threatening to dogs, causing hypoglycemia, seizures, liver failure, or even death. This sweetener is lurking in many everyday products like toothpaste, candy, cough drops, and more.

If your dog ingests xylitol, get them to the vet immediately for a glutathione injection to counteract the effects. Remember, prevention is key—keep all products containing xylitol out of reach!

Yesterday morning before our shop was open, we received a knock on our door. A very kind and concerned lady pointed out an injured pigeon on the sidewalk that was really struggling. 🥺 He was headed in the direction of our shop.

We are staffed by animal lovers, so he was scooped up carefully, placed in a box and kept under the watchful eye of the team. He was given water, which he gulped down, and spent about 4 hours sitting and watching us from his box.

He was Injured pretty bad, but seemed grateful. It was sweet watching how concerned the team was about him.

Mid way thru the afternoon he went home with one of the staff to spend his last moments...

Although Pete the pigeon ended up flying over the rainbow bridge earlier that evening, he touched our hearts ❤️ We would like to think he is soring high in a happier place. 😊🌈

Today we had a staff training day with Katie Lopez, our amazing partner with Pet's Global. They are a family owned company that makes amazing foods and treats such as Zignature and Fussie Cat.

After class we did some treat taste testing with Carlos and the cat currently in our adoption room, Maverick. They SCARFED it down big time! 😋
