Today we celebrate National Onion Day! 🎉🧅

Weslaco is proud to be the home of the State Vegetable of Texas: the famous Sweet 1015 Onion! Our community has deep rooted love for the 1015 Onion that spans from reasearch at the Texas A& AgriLife Extension to the hard work and dedication of our local growers and we are proud to celebrate this with the annual Texas Onion Fest!

🌟 Stop by the Weslaco Chamber & Visitors Center today and support Miss Weslaco & Miss Texas Onion fest with their summer service projects! 🎉 Your donations will help fuel their community service efforts, helping them grow as leaders and making a positive impact.

👑Miss Weslaco, Sophia Mireles is collecting toys 🧸for her Heal.International. Medical.Missions (HIMM) Youth Chapter. This year her mission is in Peru, and all donations will be taken to elementary and middle schools in Cutervo, Peru.

👑Miss Texas Onion Fest, Larissa Rodriguez, is collecting 🩴Flip Flops for her 7th annual Flip Flop to the World donation drive! This non-profit organization provides footwear to orphans in underdeveloped countries. This year the country of focus is Canada.

🫶Every contribution, makes a difference. Let's come together to support our local queens and the incredible work they do!
