And there it is! Our first 90 of the month for Milwaukee!
A morning complex of storms drifting by to our south brushed us with some morning clouds, but now increasing sun across the board will allow temps to soar through the afternoon. Another hot and humid day is unfolding, we'll talk about the numbers at noon
Heat, humidity and not much wind making for feels-like temps soaring into the 90s this afternoon. Here's current Heat Index values as of 1pm.
With a temperature at 83 degrees this hour in Milwaukee, it's the warmest we've been in the metro in over two weeks.
Let's get after the new work week! Plan on muggy conditions right into this upcoming weekend, along with times of showers and storms. Latest forecast coming up at noon
Most of the highs this month have been below normal as that mark sits at 82 for much of July. That streak likely ends starting tomorrow and through the rest of the month warmer temps are expected.
The warm up is on the way but it doesn't look like we'll get the heat we did in June... here's a look at the hottest temp each month this year for Milwaukee.

Currently running 2.3 degrees cooler than normal on high temps this July.
Nothing overly hot this month, and in recent days. We have yet to reach 90 this month and we haven't had an above average day on temps in 10 days. That should change by this weekend. Tracking a gradual warm up today on the news at noon
Mostly 70s so far this Meteorological summer, including today's high of 74. We could be adding a couple more 90s as things heat up late weekend and early next week.

Few minutes of daylight now shaved off, that sunrise right at 5:30 this morning and sunsets tipped back before 8:30pm.

We're now on day 3 of dry conditions for Milwaukee with another 3 dry days ahead before isolated storm chances return... It's been rare to have dry stretches this year in the city.

Lots of lightning but no severe storms as of this moment. Still will pack a punch as it continues to work east about 40mph.
Our first warning has been issued for Walworth county, it runs until 9:15pm. Wind gusts to 60mph possible, the storm itself is moving east at 40mph.
Here's the latest radar image as of 7:58 pm. All of this is moving east.
Seeing some rotation near Janesville which is under a Tornado Warning at this time... storm is moving east at 25 mph but we have had wind gusts to around 100 in parts of these storms west. Keep it with we'll get you ready!
Tornado Watch in yellow, Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Pink and a handful of warnings already in play... rotation in storms to our west headed this way. Be prepared for things to turn active in a hurry here within the next hour.
Severe risk continues to increase, especially for our southern tier counties that have now been upgraded to a more rare level 4 risk for severe storms. I'll have the latest forecast at 5pm

We just dropped a degree this hour. Milwaukee has not been able to reach 90 so far this month, here's recent July 90s. After today no chance to feel sweltering heat for the foreseeable future.
Level 3 risk for severe storms has inched up just a little bit now putting Milwaukee right on the edge of potential severe heading into the evening. Keeping a close watch on radar trends this afternoon.
Strong storms are possible this evening, mainly for southern parts of the area as shown here. The latest forecast touches coming up at noon
All warnings dropped but still packing a punch with lightning, some gusty winds and maybe even some hail. The back edge should be out to the lakefront in an hour, speaking of, lakeshore spots near may still see an isolated storm overnight otherwise the watch is likely getting dropped after this main line moves through.
