New mountain bike trails in Slinger at Heritage Trails County Park are now open for riding. In 2021, Washington County partnered with Metro Mountain Bikers (MMB) to develop bike trails at Heritage Trails. Since their opening, daily visitors to the park have increased 272%. In recent years, it was estimated that 82% of these riders are from outside Washington County, creating roughly $500,000 in visitor spending!

The Eisenbahn Trail will be closed from Barton Avenue South to the Lac Lawrann Conservancy beginning on May 20th. ATC will be performing repairs to the their powerlines during this time and the area will not be safe for pedestrian travel. Thank you!

The City of West Bend will take center stage as John McGivern's acclaimed television series, Main Streets, shines a spotlight on our vibrant community. The beloved Emmy Award-winning actor and host John McGivern and co-host Emmy Fink will lead viewers on an immersive journey through the streets of West Bend, uncovering its rich history, cultural treasures, and the stories of its resilient residents.

McGivern travels the Upper Midwest to celebrate the people who live there and the unique attractions, history, and businesses of each community. “West Bend attracted me because I’ve spent time there, and the people are friendly and welcoming,” said McGivern. “Its historic Main Street is new and improved, and the City Administrator and Mayor are very persistent!”

“We’re thrilled to host John and Emmy in West Bend,” said City Administrator and Tourism Commission Chairman Jay Shambeau. “The episode will feature unique businesses throughout the city, our historic downtown and Riverwalk, and West Bend’s rich history of manufacturing!”

Scheduled to air in April 2025 on PBS Wisconsin, Milwaukee PBS, and PBS stations around the Midwest, the West Bend episode will showcase the city's charm, historic downtown, public spaces, and thriving local businesses. Viewers can also watch Main Streets on-demand on the free PBS Video App on Roku, Apple TV, other digital devices.
