Say hello to Thalia. Thalia is the most recent dog to be cared for and treated by Lesley's Place. Thalia was rescued from a breeding colony, she had two very large mammary tumors which were removed during two separate surgeries along with being spayed. She is a very gentle and loving dog who hope to now be able to find a forever home.
This is Cora. Cora came to Lesley's Place from Long Dog Rescue. She had a couple very large mammary tumors, plus a several smaller ones. In June she had the larger tumors removed along with being spayed. She recovered very well and is doing great. She still has a couple smaller tumors that need to be removed.
Featured case. May 3rd was a day to celebrate. It was Lulabelle’s 1 year anniversary after surgery for her mammary tumor. Her restaging diagnostics found her to be in remission, NED (no evidence of disease). For dogs with mammary tumor the one-year mark is a milestone, and Lulabelle has made it, much to the joy and relief of everyone who knows her and loves her. And Lulabelle has a family who loves her very much. Things have changed so much for her over the past year since she was homeless and hopeless with a large mammary tumor and in desperate need of care. But with the help of a local rescue devoted to helping dogs like Lulabelle she found her way to Lesley’s Place and a new family. Life is good for Lulabelle, and we are grateful we were able to help her and be part of her care.
Our most recent patient, Leila. Leila is living with a foster family, she had a large mammary tumor. Her surgery was yesterday and she was a real trooper for the procedure. Going home today and doing well.
