I recently moved to a new apartment so haven’t had much time to be present on here. But I’m back! I hope you’ve been well 🫶🏼. Today, I wanted to discuss people pleasing. A topic I post on quite often. I feel like this post is a good refresher for me too as I tend to engage in a few of these things myself, such as being a crutch for others when I am burnt out.
The purpose of this post is to understand what people pleasing behavior looks like day-to-day. In my next post, I will share more about why we people please and how to unlearn this response.
People pleasing is a learned behavior, also known as the 'fawn response' which is one of the four stress responses adopted by our nervous system. The other three being fight, flight, or freeze. The aim of the fawn response is to appease others and pacify the threat to maintain a sense of safety.
This behavior is often learned in childhood, but can also be adopted later in life, such as in romantic relationships. I look forward to sharing more on this topic with you!

Through the years, I have learned so much about myself health Physically, and emotional wise in these last years. It had become not second nature, but FIRST nature, to notice these things for my self, my family and clients, and friends.
My purpose on this page is to bring everything together, and hopefully bring each person whom comes to this page something if not many things to relate and bring into their own lives, for self healing and self care.
Of course Massage Therapy will always be my first, but there are so many things at our reach just waiting to be tapped in to for each of us. MASSAGE THERAPY, OILS, REIKI, self care, and ergonomics and diet, and the many different ways that one can access to take care of themselves and those they love, and come in contact with.
