The music program will be the continuation of the youth choir program Mariane Wottrich started in 2022. Pianist Tyler Wottrich will also join the team. The singing group will present a Christmas concert in December and a musical theater production in the Spring. The goal of this class is to help students grow in their musical skills and to seek excellence in music, while equipping them to lead others in worship and to proclaim the Gospel through music. Shiloh Christian Academy hosts the only Christian performing arts group in Fargo-Moorhead. A minimum of 20 students registered is necessary to offer this class.
● 2 hours of instruction per week
● Assignments at home during the week
● 34 weeks of instruction between August 22 and May 22.
● Invitation to attend Chapel and Bible class Mondays/Thursdays 9-10am
● Both classes can count for high school credits
Mariane Wottrich started a youth choir program in 2022 and is excited to continue that adventure with her husband Tyler Wottrich at Shiloh Christian Academy. Mrs. Wottrich taught voice at NDSU from 2014 to 2024 and has performed opera and recitals in her native Montreal, around the US, and in Europe.
She also held different positions in music administration between 2009 and 2014. She received her B.M. from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, her masters from Manhattan School of Music, and her doctorate from Stony Brook University where she met her husband. Tyler Wottrich studied both math and piano at the University of Minnesota and then specialized in piano for his masters and doctorate from Stony Brook University. He joined the professional ensemble ACJW, ensemble in residence at Carnegie Hall in New York City, from 2012-14. He then accepted an appointment as piano professor at NDSU where he created and runs the collaborative piano program. Tyler and Mariane Wottrich have performed together extensively and are excited to collaborate on this youth vocal group to encourage young musicians to glorify their creator with their gifts. The group will present a choir concert in December and a musical in the spring.

Two years ago, Mrs. Hoveland felt called to pull her three children from public school and start her homeschooling journey. While preparing her high schooler for college, she found a passion for helping other homeschooling families develop a high school plan for their children. She served as the Dean of Students at LIFE STEM Academy, using her skills to assist students in finding their career interests, choosing electives that advanced their goals, and exploring job shadowing opportunities.

At Shiloh Christian Academy, she looks forward to helping students form friendships, opportunities to point students toward Jesus, and witnessing the Lord transform lives.

Becky Minion grew up in Fargo and is now enjoying life-including a homeschooling adventure of twenty years-with her family of eight in the Sabin, MN, area.
Beyond time with friends and family, she cherishes the little things in life such as watching sunrises, reading books and drinking coffee. Becky is excited to join the Shiloh Academy community to guide a combined English and history class on a journey of recognizing those who have ministered God's truth, beauty and goodness in difficult times, so we can better understand God's faithfulness to all generations.

At Shiloh Christian Academy, the upper grade English and History classes will be connected in many ways. The literature selected for the English class will be from the historical period studied and will lead to essay prompts, text analysis, and classroom discussions that will organically merge the two curricula. The history research projects will also be reviewed in English class for syntax, grammar, and compositional style. The English and history teachers will even merge some class time to be able to discuss literature from the historical perspective. This will be a unique collaboration between the two subjects which will benefit students' learning and critical thinking.
