Shout out to the campers and counselors of Camp Shalom who volunteered at JFS on Tuesday!
In just a few hours, this group made a huge impact. Not only did they help us plant fresh herbs at Jessie’s Garden, but they also packed 85 pounds of spices to hand out in our Anja Rosenberg Kosher food pantry. What an incredible accomplishment!

Thank you so much to the residents of Hoffman SummerWood, who took time this afternoon to participate in our Spice Project! They packed over 230 spice packets, pictured here, to give out to the clients of the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry. We believe that everyone should have access to not only healthy, but deliciously seasoned food.
Our Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry was delighted to receive a donation last week from Ashlee McCabe and her coworkers. Together, they purchased materials and assembled 24 Birthday Boxes to pass out to our clients! Each box contains:

JCFS Chicago CEO Stacey Shor and Marlies Gramann, Vice President of Disability Services and Chief Program Officer, attended the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA) conference this week in Pittsburgh. They co-presented an interactive session with Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford called Be Brave: Making Big Program Changes. The presentation transparently shared three case studies of major realignment, along with the steps and lessons learned from their change management journey including accurate problem identification, potential hurdles, stakeholder engagement and ex*****on.

JFS’s CEO Katie Hanley was in Washington, DC this week for the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies’ first-ever fly-in. In meetings with Members of Congress from Connecticut, Katie joined our colleagues at JFS Greenwich and JFACT, to speak with our elected officials about the critical services we offer older adults, youth, and young families in our community.
