“As ancient artworks fade with the erosions and fractures of time, so has my personal past been cleansed of the vibrancy of my feelings,” explains artist K Ryan Henisey. “What is left behind is only the best and the strongest of memories.”

“Ultimately, Remnants is about moving on,” says the artist. “These paintings and sculptures are an acceptance of the foundation that formed the person I became. They are a love song to the loves that missed.”

That thing I’ve been working on.

Janus looks in all directions, never settling in place. The installation is concrete and acrylic with cardboard and marble. Janus is currently up in the studio (which is a working artist’s disaster) and will debut with my new TAG Gallery solo show in June.

More of my art can be found at TAG, Kunsthaus RoZig’s LOVE HEART LUST exhibit online, and on my website. http://KRyanHenisey.com

Work in progress. Possible names: Janus. Need. Needful Things... I’m not set as yet. But Janus has been winning for days.

This work is about looking in the wrong places and the confusion between what you want and what you need. My June 2021 show TAG Gallery will share lessons I learned about love. Come sift through the ‘Remnants’ with me.

Matrix Zephyri is one of my all-time favorite collage-paintings. The work was displayed with two companion pieces for WeHo in Paso, fall 2018 with WeHo Arts and Studios on the Park (where he also found his forever home).

Fun fact—that exhibit is where I first met SKÜT, starting the path toward our dynamic art-leader duo.

Create

“Everything in creation has its appointed painter or poet and remains in bo***ge like the princess in the fairy tale 'til its appropriate liberator comes to set it free.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

What do you see? What will you set free.

Create is earmarked for a private collection. Commissioned word search art is available.

In the works, the shape of the gods opens onto another world, layering context and meaning without linear conceptions of time and space. Patterned figures reflect the hollow, empty aspect of belief and the beauty and hope that it maintains within our hearts.
