Artist by the Numbers: A Pattern & Matrix Listicle Artists by the Numbers first published to the Pattern & Matrix blog. Pattern & Matrix is a project of fine artist K Ryan Henisey providing art marketing and business support to individuals and organizations.

I am delighted to announce that both Babel and Innocence have been accepted for the 45th Annual Ink & Clay exhibit at Cal Poly Pomona.

Babel has previously shown at TAG Gallery and Brea Gallery. Innocence was part of my most recent collection, Remnants, which appeared at TAG Gallery, June 2021.

Ink & Clay 45 will be virtual in 2021 with an in-person exhibit planned for the fall of 2022.

Q***r Quarterly Launches with The Body Issue Lockdowns have been a great time to reflect and work on long-dreamed projects. And I am very excited to share that the first issue of Q***r Quarterly, and e-magazine dedicated to q***r art and literature is now live!

Three portals to submit your ***r art, photographs, poems, essays, articles and more. Q***r Quarterly is free to submit and free to read, made by ***rartists for q***r artists. Issue 1 (the body issue) submissions are due March 10.

That thing I’ve been working on.

Janus looks in all directions, never settling in place. The installation is concrete and acrylic with cardboard and marble. Janus is currently up in the studio (which is a working artist’s disaster) and will debut with my new TAG Gallery solo show in June.

What inspires you?

The painting explores the story of Zephyrus, the west wind. In the Metamorphosis, Zephyrus is responsible for the death of Hyacinth, who Apollo transforms to a flower in his grief.

Artist Cooperative TAG Gallery Launches 2021 Art Programming & Scholarships — TAG Gallery Artists at TAG Gallery plan a year of diverse programming on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile, starting with Pam Douglas’ ‘Sanctuary,’ January 20. A facilities and brand refresh kick off a bold new year.

Work in progress. Possible names: Janus. Need. Needful Things... I’m not set as yet. But Janus has been winning for days.

This work is about looking in the wrong places and the confusion between what you want and what you need. My June 2021 show TAG Gallery will share lessons I learned about love. Come sift through the ‘Remnants’ with me.

Matrix Zephyri is one of my all-time favorite collage-paintings. The work was displayed with two companion pieces for WeHo in Paso, fall 2018 with WeHo Arts and Studios on the Park (where he also found his forever home).

Fun fact—that exhibit is where I first met SKÜT, starting the path toward our dynamic art-leader duo.
