Olive Street Studio
A Mother / Daughter sewing venture making Quilts, Baby Gifts, Memory Bears and more.... We've come a long way! We love reading the input. :-)
We began our little Mother / Daughter sewing business in 2003 with our chenille baby quilts. We now make home decor quilts from designer cotton fabrics alongside vintage chenille quilts. Our creativity comes through the different colors and quilt designs we make. But, we still love making baby gifts and using adorable baby fabrics for quilts, gift sets, and teddy bears. We also make Memory Bears a
Before starting the next batch of custom orders, brought this pattern out to the beach house. Old- school = measuring with a tapemeasure, marking with a pencil and straight edge, and cutting with scissors. And it's underway! First set of stripes sewn together.
We haven't made a batik quilt in a long time. Excited to see the result. 😀
Amongst all the hoopla that goes with a graduating high school senior, I managed a few sewing orders. A double-sided NCAA T-shirt quilt, a running-shirt quilt for a customer we made a first running shirt quilt for 7 years ago, and some memory bears. Taking a summer break from custom orders to get some of my own sewing completed.
Happy Independence Day!
Welcome Spring!
Two additional memory bears to give comfort to family members. This is why I always save my extra fabric just in case another is wanted. :-)
Not sure if this will work, but Etsy suggested trying a "share link".... I'm trying to build up some stock! Sewing away....🙂

Two memory bears are now giving comfort to two young children who lost their dad. Made from his hoodies and an orange t-shirt. In case she didn't like the hoods, I made each an orange scarf. Each slightly different so each child has something unique.
Picking out the top-stitch threads for a new batch of 9 fabrics made into cross-body bags.....
Isn't the saying something like 'a messy desk is the sign of an organized mind'?? 😁
Got these two chenille finished. Vintage blue and white and new pink, green, yellow, lavender. Plus, cut some fabric for new cross-body bags.
Next up though.....completing 2 custom orders going out for Christmas gifts. 🙂
Finally finished this vintage chenille quilt! 🥳 35x42 with a solid blue flannel back.
Haven't gotten new crossbody bags made in a while..... and after work, decided to get the topstitching done. 🙂
How are we at the end of January 2023? Seems like we just had Halloween. 😀
Posting some pictures of completed sewing orders from the end of 2022.
Memory quilt is now giving comfort in Oregon.
Memory quilt made from flannel shirts off to provide comfort in Oregon.
Happy April!! I hope we've turned the corner to Spring weather and temps.
Some of our latest completed custom Memory orders, a two-sided t-shirt quilt went to Oregon, and two bears with a pillow sham went to New Jersey. 🙏
We love how these two quilts pop as the color pairs with black. Made to comfort a son and husband. The customer wanted the most pockets since her mom had a special thing about a good pocket. 😀
We're tackling our post-holiday wait-list. These three went to a family in NC to comfort over the loss of their beloved family patriarch. This man had some style and loved light colors. We enjoyed making these three. 🙂🙏
Ah-ha -- I found a picture of the T-Shirt quilt we made for Christmas! I knew I took a picture. 🙂
Sharing some of the custom memory quilts we made for holiday gifts. With so many requests, we cut off guaranteed completion in time for Christmas in early October. We're now working on the orders for January 2022.
We hope everyone had nice holidays with family and a good start to 2022. 🙂☃️
Oops! I forgot to take completed pictures of the 4 to Texas, so those are the layouts.
While I sewed all my Christmas orders and tried to squeeze in a couple more, I don't post pictures bc I'm not sure who sees and I don't want to spoil any surprises. But, the customer already opened this one bc it was for herself. She lost her beloved husband and I decided to make her a Christmas ornament from her favorite shirt as a surprise gift.
I prefer outdoor pictures, but the day I finished was raining.
Custom orders underway for Christmas, therefore, not many completed pics to share! BUT, here is one memory quilt "underway". 😁
Two UFOs down.....two to go!! 😁
Showing off some recent Memory Bear orders. Three from a beloved dad's shirts and three from a beloved mom's bathrobe and PJs. Giving comfort to families in New Jersey and Hawai'i.
This "bathrobe bear" was made for a baby shower. We had plenty of fabric to make a little pillow that had one of the robe pockets.
We made four Christmas ornaments from a favorite t-shirt of a beloved brother, so a sister could give to her siblings as a remembrance. ❤😇🎄🎁
More memory comforts for a repeat customer. This round for her beloved sister, two bears from favorite tops and three shams from t-shirts. 🙂
