This survey is being conducted for the Access to Care Subcommittee under the state’s Commission on Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder. The Access to Care Subcommittee is working on identifying the most common barriers people face in accessing the care they need.

Exciting news! NAMI Palm Beach County has teamed up with Hanley Foundation to introduce Teen Connection Support Group, a supportive space tailored for high school teens aged 16-18. Over eight weeks, participants will delve into topics like fostering healthy relationships, cultivating positive coping mechanisms, and honing communication skills. It's a chance for teens to uplift one another and cultivate resilience in a nurturing environment.

FLMHAC encourages behavioral health advocates to meet with their state legislators in their districts! Thank you so much, Rep. Christine Hunschofsky, for meeting with NAMI Broward CEO Dr. Joe Oravecz and Gayle Giese, FLMHAC Board President.
Governor DeSantis signed SB330/HB1617 to establish Behavioral Health Teaching Hospitals, increasing access to specialized care in mental health.
This bill establishes a three-year program to create the first Behavioral Health Teaching Hospitals. Community-based hospitals will partner with local university schools of medicine to offer integrated behavioral health education and modernize the state’s overall behavioral health system of care.
