22 years. 22 years since the unimaginable happened. For me the memory will never fade. Being younger and living in New York at the time, I remember being sent home from school and watching the twin towers collapse to the ground with my parents. Trying to process how some people have to much hatred that they can intentionally cause pain on innocent people. I remember hearing about children’s parents and family being killed that I went to school with. How lucky I was my father stopped working in city a few years before so he can work from home to watch us grow up. But how can you feel lucky when other people were suffering.
I have witnessed bad car accidents and people just look and drive by, I have witnessed families being torn apart by politics, I have witnessed people needing help and people videotaping for social media instead. But something else I have witnessed was people of all walks of life come together for years after 9/11. Let this be a reminder to be kind to one another, to not judge, help those who who need it and hug your loved ones extra long.
As always, military, police officers and firefighters receive a special discount. We support and thank you for all you do and might have to do.
