On Saturday night, I finished this painting live at the @wheelswingsfashion event in Fort Lauderdale to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Scotch & Sharks. This one-of-a-kind evening in an airplane hanger called for a one-of-a-kind painting, and it just made sense to paint Tom Cruise’s legendary character “Maverick” from Top Gun. Custom-built out of 1/16” aluminum, this piece is a combination of two panels in the shape of fighter jet wings, with rivets around the perimeter. It was sold during the live auction, and I couldn’t be more excited for my newest collector, @pittsburgh.heli owner Pavel Shlyahovsky. I am excited to officially unveil this tribute to the late Sir Sean Connery, the original James Bond and one of the coolest guys ever. This 32”x48” original acrylic on canvas portrait is titled “The Original James Bond” and features shimmering tuxedo lapels and gun, a hand-stamped dry martini background, and of course a “Bond. James Bond” spot varnish.
