Meet Dr. Miller’s patient, Aiden, who is navigating life with congenital femoral deficiency (CFD) and fibular hemimelia.

He recently underwent a complex knee reconstruction surgery, and despite the challenges, Aiden faces everything with positivity, maturity, and strength beyond his years. We’re so proud of you, Aiden!

Dr. Hariharan's 13-year-old patient, Hannah, underwent scoliosis surgery about a year and a half ago to address a substantial curvature that had previously gone undiagnosed. Today, she's thriving and is back on the volleyball court! Her success serves as a reminder of the crucial role early detection and treatment play in managing scoliosis effectively.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Casey Beleckas to the Levy Shoulder to Hand Center at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute! A Florida native, Dr. Beleckas brings top-notch training from Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Indianapolis University. After completing her fellowship with Dr. Jonathan Levy, she’s thrilled to be back in Florida.

Meet Dr. Shannon's sweet patient, Sadie, accompanied by her sister! Sadie showed remarkable courage during her recent lengthening procedure, with her sister by her side throughout the entire journey.

We’re thrilled to announce the 2025 Congenital Limb Deficiencies/Deformities Live Surgery Course, taking place from January 20th through the 24th in West Palm Beach. This course offers comprehensive exposure to the assessment, planning, surgery, and rehabilitation of patients with conditions such as Congenital Femoral Deficiency (CFD), Congenital Pseudarthrosis of the Tibia (CPT), Fibular and Tibial Hemimelia, Congenital Pterygium Knee, Radial Club Hand, and Congenital Dislocation of the Patella.

Participants will have the opportunity to see patients before, during, and after surgical treatment, as well as observe live surgeries demonstrating procedures like SUPERhip, SUPERknee, SUPERankle, SHORDT, X-UNION, and Ulnarization. The course also includes interactive case presentations for a fully immersive learning experience. Dr. Minas' patient, Neville, led an active lifestyle until a knee injury intervened; he also had a previous microfracture, which caused his cartilage to deteriorate further. In January 2024, he underwent MACI surgery alongside a TTO (tibial tubercle osteotomy). Now, three months post-op, Neville has regained full weight-bearing capability and can resume his former activities.

Dr. Feldman’s adorable patient is all smiles! This brave little girl from West Palm Beach, who is facing MPS IV/Morquio Syndrome, continues to radiate joy even after her recent spinal fusion surgery.

Her resilience and positivity are truly inspiring, and we’re honored to support her every step of the way.

Drs. Paley and Shannon had a wonderful visit with Chiara at the Paley European Institute in Poland!

Chiara, who has bilateral tibial hemimelia, has successfully undergone reconstruction of both legs and is thriving. Although she was initially hesitant, Chiara now can’t wait to give hugs and high-fives to Drs. Paley and Shannon. Moments like these make the journey so rewarding! 💜

From Patients to Paralympians: Paley Institute Patients to Compete at the Summer 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Against all odds and despite recommendations for amputation due to their congenital deficiencies, three extraordinary young American athletes are gearing up to go for gold at the Summer 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Their journey took a transformative turn thanks to the groundbreaking expertise of Dr. Dror Paley in treating Congenital Femoral Deficiency (CFD) and the unwavering trust their families placed in his pioneering care at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute. This powerful partnership between Dr. Paley’s innovative treatments and the athletes’ dedication, determination, and resilience has enabled them to overcome their CFD and pursue their Paralympic dreams, refusing to let anything define their story but their own will to succeed.

We're proud to cheer on Keegan Knott as she makes waves in swimming, Jordan White as he hits the mark in archery, and Arelle Middleton as she blazes the track in track and field.

Filip from Poland, born with CFD, is gearing up for his SUPERhip procedure—the first step toward his journey to becoming a future Paralympian.

Meet Dr. Quinnan’s 26-year-old patient who suffered severe femur and tibia fractures. He came to the Paley Institute with failed hardware and a nonunion fracture of the left femur, which Dr. Quinnan successfully treated with intramedullary nail fixation. It is now healing well.

Dr. Quinnan and his team are now planning surgery to address his right tibia, which needs correction for proper healing and alignment. Our goal is to restore his function and help him achieve a full recovery!

Addysen, our brave 7-year-old from North Carolina, living with fibular hemimelia, spent three incredible months with us at the Paley Institute. We’re beyond thrilled that Addysen achieved an amazing 5cm of length during her treatment!

David Feldman, MD, had a great follow-up visit with his patient, Harrison! Despite navigating scoliosis, a tethered cord, and clubfoot, Harrison is making fantastic progress and was all smiles during his visit!

Harrison will continue wearing his back brace and is scheduled for his next check-up in six months. Keep up the great work, Harrison!

It’s always a pleasure to connect and share insights with such esteemed colleagues.

Exciting Times in São Paulo, Brazil! Dr. Paley is honored to be the Presidential Guest Speaker at the RECONPED meeting, the combined event of the Brazilian Pediatric Orthopedic and Limb Lengthening societies.

Lecturing on CFD in São Paulo, Dr. Paley had the pleasure of reconnecting with society President Marcelo and many dear friends.

A special moment was shared with former fellow and cherished friend, Dr. Monica Nogueira, and long-time colleague and friend, Dr. Jose Bongiovanni.

It was also wonderful to see former fellows Monica Nogueira and Richard Luzzi. Dr. Monica Nogueira, from São Paulo, has been one of Dr. Paley and his family’s dearest friends from Brazil since her fellowship in 1999.

The reunion was filled with reminiscing about the past and celebrating the strong bonds formed over the years.
