Last Tuesday, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosted a wreath-laying ceremony to honor Revolutionary War heroine, Margaret Corbin, at the West Point Cemetery. The DAR invited members of the Corbin Forum and Corbin Forum Senior Advisor, Col. Katie Matthew, to speak in honor of the legacy of Margaret Corbin and recognize the significant contributions of women in military history. We were so honored to recognize the heroine who we get our name sake from.

Our Corbin cadets, along with the Black and Gold Leadership Forum, had the amazing opportunity to meet with this year’s Thayer Awardee, the Honorable Elizabeth Dole.

Why you joined Corbin and what have you learned? I went to my first Corbin workout after Ms. Nagy encouraged me plebe year and officially joined at the start of AY23. I am thankful for Ms. Nagy’s thorough guidance and have taken what I learned at Corbin lifts to my company Sandhurst team by mentoring and helping other girls gain confidence with lifting. My favorite Corbin experiences are the lean-in luncheons, we get the opportunity to ask the burning questions and seek solutions to our struggles. I always leave incredibly inspired and excited to bring great things back to my organization, the Circus.
It’s Branch Week here at West Point, so we want to highlight some of our firsties who have just completed branching profiles and are getting ready to get their branches!! Today we want to highlight our very own CDT Declan Dennis, Co. H1!!

When did you join Corbin? First semester cow year - fall 2022
Why did you join Corbin? Multiple friends were in the club and invited me to join. I stayed for the positive community and open discussions about West Point, the army, and the world.
Favorite lesson you’ve learned from Corbin? Learning about the differences between the male and female experiences in the military and at West Point and gaining a better understanding on how to build a culture as a leader that minimizes these differences.
