Illuminating Essence has turned 1! It’s been wonderful starting a business and learning the ins and outs of how to create candles that people love! Though I haven’t been super active for the last little while (new job, a move, other life things), I’m back for the holidays! Keep an eye out for new scents this year! A winter delight is what winter x hygge. The Nordic countries know how to make winter an enjoyable experience.
Since I’ve moved to Toronto, I’ve been enjoying the winters more. It might be colder than Aldergrove, but it’s sunnier, more festive and there’s so much more to do. Especially with adding elements of hygge to my home (more warm light, more blankets, more candles, more hot cocoa), I find that I can enjoy winters. Compared to rainy BC winter, I’d prefer a Toronto winter everytime.

our candles are made specifically to be lightly scented. we understand how difficult it can be to enjoy scented candles when they’re strong and overpowering. in some cases people might develop headaches (like me), so we create our candles with that in mind!
