⭐️ MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ⭐️

‘s journey in the sport of weightlifting spans nearly a decade. She started well before we became a club and was the first member in it.

On the platform, Kati is a strong, fierce competitor and an outstanding role model. In the gym, she dedicates time to coaching and mentoring club members, despite the demands of work and life (and pups). Kati supports her friends and teammates, through the ups and downs of life and helps create a welcoming team atmosphere.

Kati’s dedication to maintaining consistency and pushing her limits, even amidst life’s competing demands, stands as a source of immense pride for her. She has created a lifestyle that aligns with her goals and has successfully seen them through, a testament to her perseverance and determination.

Kati loved to dance growing up but was never competitive. As she became an athlete later in life, it helped her appreciate both mental and physical toughness - traits she felt had eluded her. Says Kati, “I’m grateful for how strong weightlifting has made me, both inside and out.”

To those interested in or just starting weightlifting, Kati emphasizes the importance of finding joy in the journey.: “Do it for fun,” she insists. “I fell in love with the Olympic lifts because it was fun. If you don’t start out having fun, then you’ll never last.”

You help make our club a better place and we love you for it, Kati!

dickinson7 wears multiple hats in the gym. And fun socks. And a f***y pack. It just depends on the day and time.

LJ has been coaching since September and she can already see the difference she can make in someone’s lifting (and their life). She loves “creating a space for new lifters where they feel comfortable to be themselves and try their hardest to improve their weightlifting” and being a part of their journey as they get started in weightlifting.

Not only is LJ a rock-star coach and mentor for our youngest lifters, she’s a great weightlifter too. She’s most proud of the technical work she has put in lately and finds perfecting her craft rewarding.

And to those who are considering trying out weightlifting, LJ has some words of advice: “It may be scary at first, but however much experience you have, whatever you look like, it doesn’t matter. You could seriously change your life. I’ve made some of the most meaningful connections and friends through weightlifting. Everybody celebrates everybody no matter where you’re at with your weightlifting journey. It’s worth trying out and you might be really good at it!”

We love that advice, LJ, and we are stoked to have someone like you in our club!

These two are extremely hard workers and phenomenal athletes. Perhaps the strongest sisters in 🤔

Congratulations ladies!

had quite the year in 2023, bouncing back from an injury to set lifetime personal records in both lifts. With the support and encouragement of her teammates, she was able to get back to top shape through PT and technical work, reminding herself that she was “in it for the long haul”.

Weightlifting is something that brings her a lot of joy and is a “hell of a lot of fun.” Carter has been lifting for a few years now and continues to see improvement and progress - as she says, “you are never too old to start”. She is the definition of consistency, showing up week in and week out to hone her craft.

And despite her own injury, she feels very confident that weightlifting has prevented more injuries than caused by keeping her active, mobile and strong. Which is good for Carter because when she is not in the gym dialing in her weightlifting, she loves playing agility with her pups (editor's note: her pups are awesome).

We’re so glad you are a part of the club, Carter, and can’t wait to see all the gains you make in 2024!

might be new to weightlifting, and sports in general, yet she has the approach and attitude of a seasoned vet.

She comes into the gym ready to put in work. Her positive attitude helps guide her through the ups and downs of weightlifting, trying to see the good in everything.

When Makenna isn’t spending time with her two dogs, Bailey & Bonnie, she’s in the gym giving her best and not sweating it if it isn’t her day. She thinks anyone interested in weightlifting should go to one of our Bring a Friend days and reminds them that, even though it is a hard sport and takes practice, to not give up.

Great advice and something that has worked well for Makenna.

We’re glad you are a part of the team and can’t wait to see what 2024 brings you!

2023 was a great year for our club. Membership exploded. We ran our first meet. We helped host a youth athlete camp. Our bring a friend day introduced lots of folks to weightlifting. We traveled the country & New England to compete. We had more social events than ever before. Some of our athletes attended the first annual NE Elite camp. There were loads of highlights and great experiences.

In addition, friendships deepened, folks were empowered, we welcomed new members (and babies) with open arms and our community grew stronger in mind and body.

Let's keep the good times and PRs rolling into the next year. Thank you all for your effort and commitment to the club. Here's to 2024!

By the numbers:

▪️10 meets
▪️86 competitors
▪️9 first time competitors
▪️3 national meets
▪️15 national competitors, 8 medals
▪️At least a dozen New England records set
▪️80% of competition lifts made (out of 512 total attempts)
▪️3 athletes on NE rankings, 1 youth athlete of the year

This is just a small way to show how much you all mean to me. I’m extremely fortunate to coach for a living and your commitment to our club makes it possible.

I’ll often take time throughout the week to step back and admire what we’ve built and the effort that everyone puts into their weightlifting. It fills me with pride. I’m grateful for everyone that helps make our club so awesome!

I had an awesome opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the sport yesterday.

and dropped a full day of knowledge on us, from discussions around biomechanics to meet coaching tactics and more.

I left with plenty to apply and a few more coaching friends.

Thank you all for organizing and bringing us together.

Say hello to our newest coach .dickinson7 👏🏼👏🏼

LJ will be coaching our youth weightlifting foundation sessions, helping out at meets and taking on other roles as they come up.

As our youth membership grows, we hope to open more opportunities like this to our youth and junior members who are interested in coaching 🥳

LJ has stepped up big time over the past couple months, diving more into the technical aspects of weightlifting, fostering trust and building relationships with her peers and guiding our newest members to impressive lifting.

Plus, she’s already nailing the look with her f***y pack.

Keep up the great work, LJ!
