Westfield State University’s Banacos Academic Center (with Disability/Accessibility Services staff from other MA Universities and Westfield State Admissions) is hosting hour-long Zoom sessions between January 14-27. The following topics in preparing for college will be addressed to help support our students, and their parents or guardians, who access IEPs or 504s:

Brief screenings are the quickest way to determine if you or someone you care about should connect with a behavioral health professional.
You can also always feel free to reach out to your school counselor if you have any concerns.

We recognize that you and your family may be experiencing a variety of challenges as we come closer to the start of the school year and we want to provide you with two great resource to help
1. BRYT has created a parent support group that they will offer for free and open to all caregivers across Massachusetts. This is an excellent resource for parents to support each other during a period of uncertainty and a rollercoaster of emotions. Their groups are 3x/week and start the week of 9/14. 2. The Westborough Public Schools and Westborough Youth & Family Services have partnered to create a Community Wellness Guide focused on emotional wellness and racial equity.
The first Community Wellness Guide focuses on re-entry to school and managing change. Topics included are: tips on how to talk with your children about their feelings during school opening, how to set your family up for success by building routines, how to deal with change, and how to handle job stress.
