Here’s exactly why I don’t do cold plunges for muscle recovery 👇 I know, cold plunges/ice baths are all the rage. BUT… In my experience, I’ve found that cold plunges CAN be great over time to help your body get into a more relaxed state once you get used to them, but a lot of people struggle with the initial discomfort and consistency. Instead, I recommend incorporating active recovery techniques like gentle yoga, foam rolling, and better hydration (electrolytes) which are easier to stick to and may even offer more benefits. Of course, everybody is different, and if you enjoy cold plunges/ice baths, then by all means — keep doing it! But if you’re like me and you like to keep things simple? Here’s exactly what I do when I’m too tired or run out of time to do a workout ⤵️ You’re not always going to feel like exercising and that’s just life. When that happens, here’s what I do instead: 1. Easy alternative - Commit to just 10 minutes of exercise. Most times I keep going because the first 10 minutes is often the hardest. 2. Another easy alternative - put some music on and dance for 10-15 minutes. 3. Another easy alternative - Head outside for a walk with a friend, call a friend while I’m walking, or catch up on my favorite podcast.
