TRUE STORY: I just expected that I would gain weight over the 6 week holiday period..I thought there was nothing I could do about it

What was really holding me back?

I didn’t have any sort of plan to follow so I was giving up before it even started

I was sporadically running or working out but not following a program

I would “eat less” during the day to balance out all the junk I ate the day before...which only left me hungrier & with more sugar cravings

I dreaded stepping on the scale in January to assess the damage, & then tried to get myself back into healthier habits

What an awful way to live. Trapped in habits that don’t align with the healthy person I wanted to be

I remember the first holiday season where I started drifting towards old habits & then thought “What am I doing? I don’t even want or need all this but I’m just blindly doing what I’ve always done”

No. More.

🎄The Holiday season is just like ANY OTHER TIME

You go to work like normal

You get your kids ready for school like normal

Yes, there are more activities & festivities, but most of your meals & days are just like any other day

Once I started following a simple pattern for each day & learned how to maintain balance I stopped craving all the crap

Plus, eating consistently well, I’m not left starving or overeating at the “fun” events. I make decision based on what makes me feel good

I’m not depriving myself of anything but have gotten out of the all or nothing mentality

Thinking you can’t lose weight or maintain your weight over the holiday is keeping you stuck in a “diet mentality”

A healthy person has sustainable, consistent, balanced habits year round & isn’t fighting with the scale

🙈It just doesn’t make sense why you’re weight keeps climbing even though you’re eating healthy, you’ve always worked out & nothing has changed

Logically, it seems like a “medical” issue or hormone issue or something outside of your control

But what if its not


WHAT IF there is something going on that is completely in your control & will allow you to lose weight when all the diets & healthy habits have failed you

Here are 2 brands you can look for at Costco, Kroger, and other grocery stores if you are needing some quick back up options that will still allow you to eat at home while introducing other flavors and quick prep.

AmyLu (Paleo (dairy free) options available. Meatballs, breakfast sausages, chicken sausages available; all fully cooked

Kevin’s Paleo meals: comes with sauce to add to pre-cooked meat. Recommend only using 1/2 the sauce packet and saving the other 1/2 to spice up your home cooked chicken or steak later in the week

These can make good quick lunch or dinner options. Add to salads or with cooked vegetables
