Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell
Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2022.
I was honored to have been profiled in the August edition of Valley Vista Neighbors Magazine. The publication goes out to residents in Santa Rosa Valley, Lynn Ranch and Somis. The article, entitled “Serving Ventura County, Protecting America” highlights my current efforts with the Board of Supervisors, as well as my history of service, including currently in the Navy Reserve. I want to thank the magazine staff - Collin, Ken, Julie and photographer Jesse - for approaching me about this opportunity and taking the time and making the effort to bring this profile to the pages of the magazine. And thank you to Rosemary Allison for bringing it all together. It’s a great piece, and I am humbled. Look for it in your mailbox soon!

Take 2 minutes to read this powerful testimonial here by a Thousand Oaks resident who was a victim of violence and found the support she and her young kids needed in the Family Justice Center model. It’s a model that works and we are planning to bring one to the East County.

Yesterday, a local beachgoer recovered this anti-tank rocket from the sand and took it home. Shortly thereafter, they realized their mistake. If you come across an item like this at the beach, we are asking you, please do not touch it. These are not replica souvenirs. Immediately evacuate the area, notify a lifeguard, and call 911.
This week I was excited to be given a tour of the Ventura County Fairgrounds and explore new opportunities and partnerships to connect the residents of the East County with the annual fair and other great events that take place at this incredible space. This year, the fairgrounds celebrate 150 years in the county, with the annual fair kicking off July 31st. I hope to see you and your family there!

On Juneteenth, we commemorate the momentous day when the last enslaved Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom in 1865.
Juneteenth is not just a celebration of the past; it's a call to action for a future of equality, justice, and unity.
Today, we honor and celebrate the incredible dads, stepdads, grandfathers, and father figures who've made a difference in our lives.
May today be filled with joy, love, and unforgettable moments with your loved ones.
My son Steven and I got to hang with some of the heroes of Ventura County Fire Department at 33s in Lake Sherwood this morning. It’s hot out there. It’s brush fire and Red flag conditions in many areas. Be careful and sign up for notifications at https://www.vcemergency.com/ And remember to thank your local fire fighters and 1st responders when you see them.

As some of you may know, I hold monthly Sidewalk Office Hours around Ventura County’s 2nd District. I was recently interviewed by Makena Huey at the acorn, and I was able to share the importance of these community interactions. Being on the sidewalk or in front of a small business helps remind me of who I work for - the constituents. It’s an invaluable opportunity to hear your concerns, discuss local issues, and work together to find solutions. I want to thank the Acorn for helping publicize these events and I look forward to seeing you at my next Sidewalk Office Hours! My visit to Normandy Beach, France. God Bless the Greatest Generation.
Tomorrow, June 6, America and our WWII allies commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the “longest day” and the largest amphibious assault in history, the D-Day landing in France. But that’s not when the invasion first started. The night before, CAPT Rosie Nolan, pictured here, and other men from the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions parachuted into Normandy behind N**i lines. They fought the Germans through France for the next 40 days. Rosie, who went on after the war to coach football at Newbury Park High School and Thousand Oaks High School - and others like him, now mostly all passed, are the brave heroes who saved the world from evil. God Bless the Greatest Generation.
This weekend, I was so proud and honored to help welcome Stepping Stones to the Santa Rosa Valley. Stepping Stones is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people and horses, teaching individuals of all ages and experience levels how to safely and effectively ride. One of my favorite aspects of the Stepping Stones Riding Program is how they teach young children essential life skills like hard work, empathy, dedication, and commitment to service. At the ribbon-cutting on Saturday, the community came together to welcome Stepping Stones to their new home, and I was honored to play a role in their relocation efforts.
In addition to the new space for Stepping Stones, the County also expanded hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, now totaling over 30 miles of trails, further enriching our community's outdoor recreational opportunities. I'm excited to see the positive impact Stepping Stones and these new trails will have in our community.

There was a very moving Memorial Day ceremony today at Conejo Mountain Memorial Cemetery to honor the men and women of the US Armed Services who gave their life in defense of our great nation. We are eternally grateful and humbled by their sacrifice, and the sacrifices of their families and loved ones. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
On this Memorial Day, we pause to pay our respects and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their selflessness and bravery will never be forgotten.
Today we remember the lives of the men and women of law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in the line of duty. In the presence of the families of fallen peace officers, today was a stark reminder of the bravery, dedication, and unwavering commitment these heroes displayed to protect and serve our communities.
There is a difference 🇺🇸
I was relieved to learn that there will be a leadership change at CLU. I look forward to a new chapter ahead for the esteemed university where I was honored to teach for many years and now represent before county government.

I’d like to take a moment and acknowledge two impactful members of our community, Beverly Brune and Joe Edmiston, and highlight their induction into the Gratitude Circle for their dedication to the Conejo Valley. Both Beverly and Joe have spent their lives advocating for conservation, nature, open spaces, and community involvement, and they have made lasting impacts on our parks, community gardens, and open spaces. Join me in celebrating their remarkable contributions and the positive difference they have made.
