Before we’re all sucked into the inevitable apple/pumpkin/cranberry season, (and I’ve been in the trenches with apple fritters) why not spice up some raspberries! Cinnamon/cardamom/ginger and no matter the filling, it’s autumn in a pie! I mean, it’s still 90 degrees so berries are totally appropriate…

Missing our old Boxing Day parties today but Omicron is not having it! Here’s the silky chocolate tart in a Biscoff cookie crust you’d be snacking on if we had had our annual Boxing Day bash…..until next year (we said last year)…… #😋

Every Christmas I make several Buche de Noel for clients, usually chocolate cake with a vanilla cream filling, poinsettias and snow and meringue mushrooms, the whole 9. For this week’s special with hazelnut swirl gelato and cookie crumble. #😋

When I was a kid my mom threw a lotta dinner parties. She was Fancy Nancy and probably spent entire paychecks on cheese! One time she hollowed out tangerines and filled them with chocolate mousse. I thought this was the heighth of sophistication - I was probably 7. 😂 Here is my seasonal ode to my mom - chocolate mousse served in a brown sugar and butter roasted pumpkin, decorated with chocolate curls. This week’s special ! #😋

I wasn’t ready to go full caramel/apple/pumpkin but wanted to glide into fall. Pears anyone? This week’s special is a chocolate soufflé cake served with poached pear and a St Germain sabayon and it is pretty darn delightful - come by for dinner and dessert!

I’m still not over the passing of . As if I didn’t YouTube him enough before he passed, I continue to. When I can’t sleep he’s one of 3 comics I invariably scroll through bits of till I fall asleep. My favorite SNL news anchor, favorite guest on any show, and I loved the song he sang with at the end of his Netflix show - it was so cornball and goofy. My favorite of his jokes are too off color to praise in focaccia, so here is my tribute - a cherry tree in reference to his George Washington and the Cherry Tree joke and upper left, a cilantro “moth” for his famous moth joke.

Remember when you heard the ice cream truck jingling from down the street? So exciting! My favorite ice treat was a Neapolitan ice cream sandwich. That smushy chocolate cake layer was everything. Here is my grown up take on that Neopolitan - layers of chocolate, vanilla and cherry semifreddo, sandwiched between chocolate dipped lady fingers, cherry drizzle.

What do you do when you mess up a tray of muffins? Make bread pudding! Chocolate and almond bread pudding, with, of course, a generous addition of bourbon… plated by #😋

Blueberry pancake pie with bourbon caramel sauce. Smushy like your favorite pillow, and juuuuuuust firm enough to hold up the berries. It’s officially breakfast but idk….. right now! #😋

Happy Hump Day - Chocolate chocolate chip banana cake with roasted hazelnuts, topped with a classic crumble and homemade caramel drizzle. I took my kid’s favorite, old school banana cake recipe and chocolatized it. Cuz now it’s about me! #😋
